Granite's Friday win over Cyprus didnt come easy at first. Both clubs battled back and forth showing strength defensively. Granite made a break through. A fumble by Cyprus that was recovered by Granite set up score No. 1. Reuben and Ron Bleaxard took Gal-bald- oo turns smashing at Cyprus until Bleaxard, a 175 pound fullback, smashed over for the score. The second Granite score was set up by an Interception of a Cyprus aerial. Seconds later Galbaldon scored. PAT specialist Virgil Latimer, successful on first try for conversion, watched Pirate Paul Dllley block his second try. Granite had the momentum it needed. It didnt appear the Pirate eleven would recover. The following scores were taken in stride as the Farmers geared for Fridays with Olympus by Sme reserves to see action in the game.
