Show EAST MILLCREEK NEWS BY PAT KENDB March 3, 1966 REVIEW, Church Fulfills Dream, Builds New Altar A fourteen-ye- ar dream was realised last Sunday when the congregation of Christ Methodist Church, 2375 East 33rd South worshipped for the first time in their new sanctuary. In 1952 the congregation of the Liberty Park Methodist Church decided to move into the suburban area. The building program, a three-pha- se process, began in 1954 with the laying of the cornerstone for the first unit of the church complex, the Fellowship Hall. Until last Sunday, worship services were held In this section. In 1963 office space and class rooms were added to the building and on July 20 the groundof last year, breaking ceremonies for the third and final phase were held. The new sanctuary is a place of worship well worth the wait- - served seats are $2.50. All proceeds from this athletic event will be used by theVFW for service and rehabilitation work. Contestants will come from eleven Western States and include 120 young met eagerly awaiting competition in the eight regular weight classifications. Each of the referees on the final night will be boxing personalities. They include Floyd Richardson, Keith Nuttall, BobHepler, Rex Layne, Dr. Jay Lambert, Gene Fullmer and Paul Ferguson. Winners of the three-da- y contest will represent the West in the National Golden Cloves Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri, March 5.
