The agreement by which the leasehold interest were acquired provides lhat Cobb shall drill a test upon the property to sufficient depth to test the Ellcnbcrger formation which is expected to be encountered at approximately 7,000 feet. Three drilling locations have been staked on the property and drilling of the test well is to be started prior to the end of the month. Results of the initial well will determine whether drilling of any additional well on the property covered by the leases will be undertaken. Geologic information relating to the property tends to indicate Ihe existence of a fault condition which may have resulted in a structural trap underlying the properly. The drilling of the test hole will prove or disprove such condition and the possibility of oil or gas in commercial quantities, the company said. Hydro Nuclear said it considered this program as a wildcat drilling venture with the high risk of failure typical of such drilling ventures. Silver Butte finds rich ore zone KELLOGG, working at the Silver Butte Mining Co. mine have encountered a rich mineralized zone of ore which, after several rounds, has' widened out to a two-fowidth, according to C.C. Hohman, Silver Butte president. Samples from the new ore zone assayed 356.5 ounces of silver per ton; .03 ounces gold; 2.9 lead; 1.9 zinc; 2 copper and 1.81 ot antimony. Hohman said the strike is on the Catherine vein, which we feel is a separate vein from the two veins previously encountered by our diamond drilling program. Ihe diamond drill cores showed these veins to be 4 V4 and 516 feet wide of good ore. As yet, we have not interesected these veins with our drilling program. He went on to say that this new strike is on a level above the ground which we presently have a lease and working agreement with Cominico American Co. The Cominico American Co. has so far diamond drilled several deep holes as part of their program in this area with encouraging results."
