the district there are applicants 50 56 from richfield 24 from monroe and 21 from salina the richfield Richtie ld graduates are distributed as follows richfield 44 glenwood 3 koosharem Koo sharem 3 annabella 3 sigurd 2 central 1 the addresses of applicants from the other two schools are not given but monroe elsinore ElB inore cove salina redmond and aurora are represented the distribution of 0 these graduates show that the high school system of sevier is now covering the entire county the campaign against three year graduation has been very successful last year 14 three year students applied for graduation nine from monroe and five from richfield this year only five are applying three from monroe one from richfield Richtie ld and one from salina As a method in improving ability to get thought in reading and ability to spell all gra grammar nimar grades in sevier district will take a dally daily class for cne term in word analysis this is being tried out as an experiment all grammar grade teachers are requested to give the course and report results at the end of 0 the term it if it appears that it Is worth while it will probably be given as a regular course this is the students by the pupils from schools of higher learning I 1 f r the visiting students attended our classe claise sall day and met wither martin to discuss ways in which we can better our school the regular friday assembly was held and consisted of prater brer by mr smith the senior speech by june orrock her topic was are you a friend it started the students to thinking whether or not they were I 1 being real friends to others these talks open our eyes tor for us that we may see sea wherein our weaknesses are so we can overcome them after the assembly a ten minute yell prad practice tice was held to stimulate an interest in the basketball game to be played that night at gunnison the basketball game played friday at gunnison was a good game ame the final score was 2221 22 21 in favor of richfield the school play the play the charm school with a cast of fifteen members was directed by miss aliss redd it will go 0 down as one of the greatest achievements in the Richtie Richfield ld high school dramatics the opera house was tilled filled to overflowing and everyone seemed to enjoy the evening performance for mance immensely the large and appreciative audience made actors put forth their very best efforts taking the work as a whole it was one ot of the greatest successes Xon mondays days assembly our usual monday assembly was opened by mr terry wonda rickets rendered a vocal solo norma thurber gave the semiweekly semi weekly senior talk her subject was sall sail on it was carefully worked out and well given the play was discussed and approved as a big feature in the with a bang saturday evening when our boys met panguitch Pan gultch on the home 7 floor the first part of the game ayas all ours but the panguitch boys soon awakened to the difficulty of their task and not only overtook and passed the score of the wildcats but kept the lead until near the end of the game when the home team staged a comeback which brought enthusiasm to the highest pitch and won second team and the wolverines rines won the league game over circleville Clr Cir cleville by a score of 31 11 although the visitors displayed good ability at playing they were utterly unable to keep the wolver ines from controlling the ball the wolverines rines were much faster aster and apparently more experienced in playing the Cir circleville cleville players were kept moving so fast at the agreed upon seventh and eighth grades resolved that they will live up to our school motto promptness to be prompt in attendance punctuality in preparing our lessons and in obeying our teachers the sixth grade resolved that they will not be late nor absent that they will increase their reading by reading many good books they resolved to come to school each day prepared reed Thur thurston Tb hospital and went under an operation he fought a hard battle for his life and won he is now on the road to recovery our basket ball team surprised themselves and everyone else last night when by one point they beat the high school boys in a game of basket ball gerald burns and verl baker have entered our school they have been going to school at sevier we are pleased to have them come and hope that they prove to be good students we have made rules to the effect that there will not be any more rough stuff allowed on our school grounds we have also appointed two policemen from each room to
