Show obituaries GEORGE EARL KENNEY funeral services were held at noon sunday in the richfield first ward chapel for geo george rge earl ken ney 2 son of don E and armenia adams kenney who died thursday night at about 1130 0 clock at the family home in Richlie richfield ld although a doctor had been called when the child seemed ill earlier eare in th the e evening his cond condition tion was not thought to be serious and his death came as a shock to the family and friends xray X ray pictures were taken but there were no signs of an unusual illness and the childs death was finally attributed tri buted to influenza bishop junius F ogden presided c with vern blomquist of the bishopric conducting the services speakers were A M faugnan Mau gnan glian principal of the richfield high school of which mr kenney is a faculty member J maiben thomson a faculty member of the high school enoch R larsen former bishop of the ward and wendell N anderson superintendent of the sevier stake Y M M 1 I A board aboard on which mr kenney had served mr maughan read an expression of respect and sy sympathy pathy from the southern utah teachers association musical numbers under direction of mrs vern blomquist with miss thelma jackson las as accompanist were two selections 0 it Is wonderful and that sweet story of old sung by a quartet composed of mrs blomquist mrs otto L anderson owen M bingham and bryant jacobs sometime somewhere sung by members of a sewing circle to which mrs kenney belongs mrs blomquist mrs anderson mrs B C luth mrs H W keate and mrs dan R manning a violin solo 0 my father by mrs bryant jacobs and a violin solo the rosary by nerva johnson of aurora accompanied compa nied at the piano by geo georgia gustaveson of holden mr and mrs bryant jacobs played violin duets as the procession en 1 t ered and left the chapel the invocation was by wilford L ashby the benediction by A J ashman superintendent of the sevier district schools richfield high school faculty teachers and their wives occupied seats of honor during the services members of the F P F A chapter of the school of which mr kenney is faculty adviser were pall bearers the boys taking part were dick isbell delbert jensen clair cowley jack Peterson Rex melvin thalman aldon fillmore and roger sevy there were many beautiful floral tributes the body was taken to holden for interment george kenney a brother of mr kenney dedicated the grave george earl kenney was born july 4 1937 at richfield he is tur survived by his parents two brothers kenneth ben and an infant brother a sister harriet elaine kenney and his grand mr arand and mrs ben kenney of holden and mr and mrs john Q adams of logan 0 MARIA G PAYNE mrs maria gottfredson payne 79 of aurora died at 12 noon sunday at the home of her son in law and daughter dr and mrs E W poulson she was born at mt pleasant november 1 1860 to jens and karen marie peterson Pc terson gottfred son her parents were called to help settle richfield and they later moved to glenwood where she grew to womanhood she was married to george payne in the salt lake endon endowment nent house on march 4 1860 1880 after her marriage she lived at aurora she was the mother of nine children three of whom survive conrad payne and mrs leela christensen of aurora and mrs estella poulson of richfield twenty two grandchildren survive her husband died about five years ago mrs payne was an ardent church worker she had served as a counselor in the relief society and primary associations funeral services rs were held on wednesday at p in in the aurora ward chapel interment was in the glenwood cemetery TILLMAN NIELSON tillman nielson 28 of redmond a son in law of mr and mrs george powell of richfield died wednesday afternoon at the salina hospital where he had undergone an operation two weeks ago survivors include inc lude his hii wife mrs bessie powell nielson and three children |
