$303000 has been spent for land acquisition while dormitories Support spaces the remainder of funds will be used for parking lots landscaping and interior equipment in- clude booking and holding visiting indoor and outdoor recreation areas food service and laundry facilities The facility is planned to provide the best possible inmate supervision with a minimum staff requirement The project is a 70000 square foot complex which collocates the county jail sheriff and attorney's offices with the state court system Department of Corrections field operations Youth Corrections field operations and The sheriffs office includes staff offices records storage conferencing and a large patrol area the Highway Patrol The county attorney office The jail is designed to house 122 inmates in 46 cells County Commissioners formally rejected Wednesday a compromise offered by the Central Utah Water Conservancy District The action came after commission chairman T Merlin Ashman explained the proposal to several representatives of Sevier Valley canal companies What the CUWCD proposed was to allow Millard and Sevier counties to withdraw from the Central Utah Project but remain in the CUWCD Such action would cancel the proposed piping of 36000 acre-feof water from the Strawberry Reservoir to Yuba Lake to be traded et to Sevier River water users upstream CUWCD officials said if the two counties remained in the district they would set up special accounts in which to deposit tax rebates for the five southern Utah counties to be used as matching funds for projects desired by the counties rnmmm Mailing Friday The Richfield Post Office is one of 17 post offices in Utah which will accept late mailing of taxes on the deadline of April 15 ’Wliile the Postal Service urges residents to avoid the
