Show OF DIES SUDDENLY funeral services for C W hawley to be held sunday the sudden death of claud W hawley 44 at his home in cent central ral wednesday morning came as a shock to friends of the family throughout sevier county where for years he has been esteemed as one of the countes coun tys most substantial citizens mr hawley was going to the corral to do his chores when he was afflicted with a stroke he was taken into the house and a physician summoned but he passed away shortly after the doctor ari ived although too ill to say more than a few words he was perfectly conscious to the last mr hawley has been prominent in civic business and church organizations and as one of the leading farmers and stockmen stoc kmen of the county in 1925 he was sevier countes coun tys le in the state legislature he was a director of the james M peterson bank and was to have attended ia a meeting of the board of directors at nine nine wednesday morning at the time of his death he was also a director in the sevier valley canal co and president of the central water works company his work in church organizations began in 1910 when he went to the central states as a missionary for the L D S church after Ms hiis return he was resident of the Inver ury ward M I 1 A at central superintendent of the sunday school and a worker in the genealogical society about eleven years ago when the south sevier stake was organized he was called to serve on the first high council of that stake later he was released to serve in the Inver ury ward bishopric and at the time of his us death was president of the high priests quorum of the south sevier stake claud W hawley was born bom august 2 1887 a son of the late asa 11 hawley and frances howd hawey ley the family moved to central early the following year and central has since been his home As a boy he be attended the central grades the richfield high school and the brigham young academy at provo on may 4 1910 he married etta christensen in the salt lake temple who has been to him a helpful companion in his varied activities surviving su i biving are the widow mrs etta C hawley two sons scott claud 18 and harold 9 two daughters norma 13 and may beth eth 4 his mother mrs frances hawley of richfield three brothers byron of richfield frank and warren barren of los angeles three sisters mrs nettie H anderson of salt aalt lake city mrs vilate H an derson of central and mrs luella H E eppley of logan because of the fact that the in ward chapel is too small to accommodate the many friends who wish to attend the funeral the services will be held sunday afternoon at 2 in the sevier stake tabernacle at richfield interment will be in the richfield cemetery |
