C., a manufacturing plant in Indiana and one in Missouri, a depot warehouse in Colorado, and Air Force Training School at Courtland, Ala., and one at Gulfport, Miss., each to cost in excess of Army Bonanza Mining Day Gone BAILS OUT OF SHIP RICH COUNTY HONORS WAR NEAR RANDOLPH First Lieutenant Marshall Wayne of the United States arrtiy air corps, parachuted to safety in the waters of a meadow pond near Woodruff, Rich county, about 18 miles south of Randolph, Tuesday at 4:15 p. m., when the pursuit plane he was piloting crashed and burned. The flier received a ducking in the pond 'but' suffered no injuries. His plana, which! struck the earth about 300 yards from the pond, was completely destroyed by fire. Lieutenant Wayne, who hails from Miami, Florida, was flying in a formation of nine fighter craft on a routine flight west out of Denver, Colo. He said he became separated from the group over Evanston, Wyo., and his plane started losing altitude. Unable to control the falling, craft, he bailed - . HERO AT DANCE A soldiers dance was given Thursday in honor of Theo Kearl who was on the Battleship Lexington when it was torpedoed by the Japs. The dance was one of the largest soldier dances held in Randolph. Theo told us about the sinking of the with over 2000 soldiers Lexington, aboard.
