McClean and family at Salt Lake Sunday. It is reported that a very fine sermon was preached by him at church. We welcome such men to our town. The river outing last Saturday was a big success. The ward was well represented and everybody was out for a good time. Contests were mostly between married and single folks, and was very closely contested. The ball game between the marr&ed ladies and single girls was won by the girls with The other game bea score of tween married and single men was won by the married men, the score being Lewis Longhurst and Jacob Norris won the horse-sho- e pitching contest from II. J. Noritis, Jr. and Geo. A. Peart only to lose it again to Mr. Bingham and F. A. (Lon) Brown. All these games being very close. The calling contest was won by Mrs. Edwin Hoffman. We do not know how far her shrill carried as the contest started 'before the three quarter and mile listeners reached their positions. Everybody brought their lunch. Free melons were furnished by the ward and everybody had a dandy good tiime. Mr. Glen Moss, who had charge of the sports, deserves much praise for the way he handled the events.
