Show WOODRUFF NEWS Thur Thursa jy the funeral for elizabeth lee was held in our chapel she died monday in a hospital at salt lake city she was born february 4 1861 in england she was the mother of nine children seven of whom are still living her husband proceeded prece eded her in death by many years she was one of the pioneers of our community and lived and raised her family here and in recent thursday evening cattage meeting was held at the home of mr and mrs theris cornia franklin laird of eureka nevada came this week to spend the summer 1 with annie frazier helping out on their farm he is a grandson of mrs lira frazer 1 and son of mr and mrs bill laird school was ended friday until the tall fall term the children and teachers were happy for this as when spring comes books are not as interesting we hope every child did their work well and get promoted friday evening at randolph the exercises for the south rich graduates were held the class was not iso large but the quality was alright for they rendered a very fine program everyone graduating had al a part and rendered it very well the band played very well also we wish to thank all the teachers for the things they have done for the toys boys and girls of our comman ity and may our schools at all times successful the graduates of our community were bessie cornia merlyn cornia lou jean delora cox lorin bohner kay bryson may this cla claims go on to greater things in life is rhe fhe wish of us all A lovely dance was held after the program where everyone had a fine time fire prevention cartoons to appear in newspaper under what we would like to call some real cooperation in the matter C of cf f fire prevention publicity for utah the cartoons which will ap fire prevention pear from time to in the rich county reaper are being presented to the people of utah T the he state board of forestry and fire control ha had d the cartoons prepared by don M drummond the randolph lion club purchased the metal plates and ther the reaper is using them n the interest of fire prevention in our community mr and mrs earl attended the graduation in honor of delora cox and spent the week end and mothers day with maud cox and family carl and arnold of of 61 den sons of gus youngberg came for a day or two this week to assist their father in the work on the church building program mrs louise wadsworth of ogden came to spend the graduating exercises in honor of her sister bessie cornia she also stayed to spend mothers day sunday being Mb mothers day a special program was given at sunday school in honor of mothers it was a spent the day with her mother mr and mrs red bruce of almy had their baby blessed at sacrament meeting and spent the fahe day with her parents mr and mrs albert longhurst Long hurat mr air milton cornia and heber cox are on the sick list this week wo we hope tl they ey are feeling better soon ted dean left tuesday for his camp and wednesday carlyle bryson is ta leave we hope these boys had an e enjoyable n time while home and that they axe are soon home again only permanently next tune time delora cox returned to evanston Bv anston with mrs earl sunday evening evenin g and spent two days with her tuesday the relief society had a quilting party along with their lesson they completed two quilts and had a real enjoyable time together besides letters were received from parley cornia reed putnam arvel te leastman astman roy cox shirley and dee cox howard putnam this week and they all report as feeling fine also letters from dale cornia and ray cox lucile cornia went to salt lake city for a visit with her sister marr aan her family walter puck buck returned home this week after spending most 0 the winter at ogden i tuesday night we had a lovely rain which we surely welcome it will help the feed on the range and all the crops on the farm |
