Heather Minegar, a volunteer at the Hill AFB Youth Activities Center, was one of 50 teens to attend the meeting in August designed to shape tomorrow's leaders. Minegar said she was surprised when picked for the forum, despite her active participation in school and base youth events. I wasnt expecting it, she said. But it sounded like fun, so I filled out an application and sent it away. In an essay included with the application, Minegar told judges about her leadership potential and how she treats people when in a leadership position. During the week-lon- seminar, at the Air g Force Academy, Colorado to Springs, Colo., she learned how improve that potential, and also helped plan future Air Force youth activities. Minegar spends most of her time after school helping with various tasks around the youth center. At school, she plans to join the drama club and hopes to take part in sporting events. After graduating from high school, she wants to study and someday become a psychiatrist.
