Bullock was convicted last December by a jury of three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and three charges of sodomy upon a child during 1983-8At the time of the court hearings, Bullock was denied a $40,000 bond request and ordered confined to jail. In connection with an appeal to the Utah State Supreme Court, a request was made that he (Bullock) be released from prison pending the high court decision on his appeal. A new bond hearing was held Tuesday afternoon at which time Second District Judge Rodney S. Page set the higher bond and stipulations to be placed on Bullock if bond is posted. The" new bond hearing was allowed by a majority of the ' Supreme Court who ruled that denial of the bond (at the time of on abuse of discretion on the based been have could the trial) of the part judge. Defense Attorney Craig Cook argued that Bullock is not a violent man and would not be a danger to society if he were allowed to be freed from prison while the appeal is pending before the Supreme Court. step-childre- BLODGETT An increased bond and a host of restrictions were placed on a former Bountiful man convicted of six counts of child sex abuse of several south Davis County children. Arden Brett Bullock was granted a bond for his release from the Utah State Prison where he has been serving a sentence. The bond will allow Bullock to remain free from jail as long as an appeal is before the Utah Supreme Court. That could take months, said Deputy Davis County Attorney Brian Namba, who prosecuted the case. Asked how he felt about the new bond which was increased from $40,000 to $60,000 cash or $60,000 plus 15 percent for property or surety bond, Atty. Namba replied: Theres not much I can do about it under the circumstances. Im not pleased that he (Bullock) can be released from prison, but there are strict stipulations to his release agreement that should prevent him from any future problems. Bullock had not posted the required bond as of noon Wednesday, but it is believed that bond will be posted. If Bullock is released, he must follow these restrictions or face parole violation and be immedfiately sent back to prison: (1) He can not travel through Davis County except on Interstate Highway 15. (2) He can not visit or appear in Davis County except on (3) He can not have contact with anyone under the age of 15 without a responsible adult being present. Some foods have become so ingrained in American culture that few realize they may have less than local origins. Potatoes, for instance, originated in Peru, yams came from West Africa, and Pita bread from the Middle East. On a local level, the Davis School Foods Service is celebrating the week with four ethnic menus from other countries to go along with the theme School Lunch - It Makes A World of Dif NSLW will be hung throughout the school. Monday and Wednesday, some of the lunch plates will have prize stickers on the bottom and the students that get these plates win a prize. Thursday there will be games to play during the lunch period, and all week long the cafeteria will be decorated with objects from different countries. Joan Tuttle, unit manager at North Layton Jr. High, and her staff have a myriad of events planned. A daily display of different ethnic backgrounds can be found in the cafeteria. Monday there will be a checkered tablecloth, garlic bread, artificial wine and wine glasses to convey a feeling of Italy. Each day a different country will be highlighted. A secret word game will be going on during the week and the first student to correctly guess the word will win a prize. In addition to this, Wednesday for American day there will be a beach party complete with sand, beach balls and Beach Boys music, and the cooks will be in their best beach bum attire to help the mood along. For each day of the rest of the week, Joan will be dressed in the costume to coincide with the country of the day. Visitors are welcome to join in and eat lunch at any of the schools; however, a phone call to the school in advance to arrange it is necessary. Cost is 75 cents for elementary age children, 90 cents for junior high and $1 for high school students, and the price for an adult is $1.60. prize-winnin- place to go.
