Show JANUARY 6, 1987 L, Qritiiary Seminar set Systematic Training for Effective Parenting, a popular training seminar for parents is being offered by the Parent Education Resource Center. The course stresses raising responsible children and helps parents explore new alternatives for Leila Romney Leila Hill Parker Romney, 91, of approaches taught in this course are tried and tested and have been helpful to many parents over an extended period of time. The instructor for the course is Lorene Newbold. Mrs. Newbold has a Masters degree in school psychology from Utah State University. She has worked in the Weber School District and is currently a homemaker and mother of three children. The program will consist of five sessions which will be held on consecutive Wednesdays beginning January 14 at 7 p.m. It will be held at the Monte Vista Center, 100 South 200 East, Farmington. Class size will be limited and preregistration is required. The cost of the course is $25 per couple and $ 5 per individual. This includes the cost of a manual. To preregister visit the Parent Education Resource Center at 100 South 200 East or call PERC is open Monday through Friday 8:30-- and on Wednesdays Plateau, Utah, a daughter of Leonard A. and Mabel Maria Haskell Hill. She was reared by her stepmother, Jennie Bird Hill. She married John Henry Parker Oct. 1, 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 1, 1943. She married Frank Romney . Also surviving are two brothers and five sisters, LeRoy A. Hill, Payson; Merrill B. Hill, Hot Spring Village, Ark.; Mrs. Thomas (Maurine) Jones, St. George; Mrs. Allen A. (Margaret) Francis and Mrs. Paul L. (Lois) Burton, both of this goal. The achieving Gentile, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1986 at her home of causes incident to age. She was born April 14, 1895 in 1295 W. Aug. 14, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Oct. 12, 1983. She had lived in Plateau, Provo, Mapieton, Payson and Syracuse. She had resided in West Layton for the past 24 years. She was a member of the Layton 2nd LDS Ward where she had served as Relief Society president. She was active in many other auxiliaries of the church. She and her husband served an LDS mission to the Atlantic States in 1963. She was an active temple worker in the Ogden and Salt Lake LDS Temples for 17 years. Surviving are two sons and five daughters, Frank M. Romney, Kaysville; Lowell M. Romney, Bountiful; Mrs. Ned T. (Gladys) Loveless, Hinckley, Utah; Mrs. Ralph H. (Cecile) Keller, Yakima, Wash.; Mrs. Maurine Badger, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Melvin K. (Emmy Lou) Blair, Kaysville; Mrs. Ernesto A. Harriet Essler dies Harriett Ralphene Perkins Essler, 57, of 475 Barlow St. , Clearfield, died Friday, Dec. 19, 1986 at St. Benedicts Hospital in Ogden of a stroke. She vas born Feb. 14, 1929, in Boise, Ida., a daughter of Alma Callan and Harriett Eugia Andrus with Bishop Arlington Wood of the Clearfield 10th Ward officiating. Family prayer was offered by William Craner; prelude, Kathy Price; O My Father by Karin Perkins. She married Edward J. Essler in December of 1952, in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Aug. 3 , 1 Carpenter and Dorothy Wood 1964. accompanied by Kathy Price; invocation, David Bouwhuis; remarks, Bishop Arlington Wood; speaker. After her marriage she traveled with her husband for 20 years while he served in the U.S. Air Force. She had lived in Carpenter, Dorothy Wood and Arizona and Florida. She had resided in Clearfield for the past 17 years. She was a member of the Clearfield 10th LDS Ward where she had served in the Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society. She had served extensively in the mission field. She had worked at the Dee Hospital and the Travelers Aid in Ogden. Kathy Price; benediction, Richard Johnson.
