Ravld Clutf. Jr. Bee Keepers First District Court His honor Judge Emeron adjourned the February term of his Court yesterday- .- Tho time of the Court was, principally occupied in hearing motions filed by Messrs. Bennett and Whitney, attorneys for defendants, Thompson ft at, to set aside the attachments that had been sued out by Jas. A. Holman, R. X. Bennett and K. T. Butler. The motions were resisted by Mes-rDana, Strickland and Lovell for the plaintiffs. The cases were of interest, as the questions received by the motions Involved a judicial construction of the attachment law. Notwithstanding the arguements were ' principally questions of law, a very considerable public interest was manifest from the patient attention of Very many of who were present. Tho plaintiffs were laborers and poor men, had worked hard during the winter for debts, and have not been paid anything. To set the attachments aside would be ruinous to each of tho plaintiffs, and would give to speculators the hard toils and 1 iliors of poor but honest men without consideration. We trust tho Court may sustain the attachments and thus teach the that law is just and right. The motions were taken under advisement until Saturday next Our minutes of the Court proceedings show the details of business at the cloe to the Court The Judge advised the bar and suitors to be ready on May 12th, for he had caused venires to issue for a Jury, and that he would require attorneys and witnesses to ri-- e to their feet and remain standing oar-citize- during the hearing of the ns evi- dence to be submitted In each and that in his opinion the case, he will a There Convention held at 2 p.m. on Sat- rule would add to the dignity of urday the 11th day of April, 1S74, the proceedings and tend fo shortIn th6 Basement of the Meeting en the time of trial. It Is that charity which Lelieveth all hopoth - all things," it elf with a contents not yet things" be ye warned, be ye clothed," but pmrfvrmt the good which it desires. It is that love which embraces all humankind; loving its neighbors as itself. It knows not the Inst of power; it seeks not its Own preferment, depises not the humblest, envies not the proudest, seeks Justice and loves mercy. It Is the spirit of God living In the heart. Thank God for that religion which supports us w hen the trials of life occur; w hich sustains ns In the hour of death. How dark and hopeless w e should be could we pot turn to Him for comfort. He who Is always ready to give to those who seek Him In humility. This is an anchor to the soul, both sure and steadfast, aud has given consolation to many a virtaous heart, at times when the most cogent reasoning would have been of no avail. True religion teaches kindness and every great and noble which we poswss; every good action which we perform, is a round In the lad ier which leads to heaven. He who will turn away a friend for a fault, is a stranger to the best feelings of the human heart. Be kind to one another, love another and seek to build up each other.
