Try Dying Your Sheer Stockings, Something New By BARBARA BUNDSCHU United Press Staff Correspondent NEW YORK, July 21 (U.R Prize winning Clare Potter's fall collection for Charles W. Nudel- man is a grey and gold and black and many colored symphony , on the classic themes dear to the heart and wardrobe hangers of every well dressed woman. The hand screen painted fab' rics for which Mrs. Potter is justly noted appear in new variety va-riety in the lovely group of casual daytime and evening clothes, and black braid has been used to ladylike . advantage with both these and the more usual fabrics. Mrs. Potter, who was revealed as one of the three winners of the 1945 fashion critics award shortly after showing her new designs for the nation's fashion editors, hasu'sed a screen painted grfy velveteen for a braid trimmed jacket over a black wool skirt in one of her loveliest suits. Hattie Carnegie has turned out slim skirts, full skirts, long jackets, jack-ets, short jackets for her wholesale whole-sale collection, to prove apparently apparent-ly that almost anything goes this season if you like it. The seasonal trend she completely ignores is that toward bulky sleeves. She is faithful to the universally favored favor-ed high neckline1 for daytime wear. "Second Wedding" Dress Carnegie turned out one dress deserving of special mention if only for the house's recommenda tion: "If you're always wondering what to wear for your second wedding, this it it." It ws a long, full, covered up antique white with gold bead bands on skirt and bodice. Joset Walker, designing for David M. Goodstein, has turned her attention to the younger set with her usual chaming collection of school day and party dresses featuring particularly her "nite- shirt" silhouette no build in waistline, just a belt around the fullness. Claire McCardell's popular full skirts and snug waist length jackets come in browns and blues and greens she correctly terms "muddy" as well as some clearer colors. She shows sheer stockings dyed to match the dark ones. You can't buy them, but it's an idea. Belle Mere Club Election Belle Mere club members spent a pleasant Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J.
