No, and I do not believe it will, ever die. - No mechanical marvel will ever take the place of the living drama In the lives of a great number of people. peo-ple. That is the real reason why, in this very age of mechanical entertainment en-tertainment devices, , the so-called little theatre movement has grown tremendously. : ySi "And, by the way. Isn't it about time to stop calling it the 'little theatre movement? Of course, the playhouses are small, but that is the only thing little about the movement. It is bigger, than the commercial theatre in the, number of productions and bigger.-; in the territory ; ; covered. V And, if J the commercial theatre keeps on . the way it ''has In; the last few years, the little theatre movement may be bigger by every measure, y . "What is 'the matter, with the commercial theatre ? That's a long story. The 'road is ' dead and Broadway itself has not been feel ing very well. But the theatre is a long way from dying. Whatever the trouble may be, it ' need, not necessarily be f ataL . The commer cial producers and managers real ize now more than ever that all Is not well, and thejT are beginning seriously to think ' about doing something. -. Organization Needed '' "What can we do about it? We want good commercial plays. We want to see hew plays, with good actors and good ' - productions. Whether we gat them or not depends de-pends on how badly we want them. If we insist on them, we shall get them. "The only way to achieve this is by organization. I do not mean discussion. We must have discus sion, . of course, but we must also have a great, deal more than thafc We must have '; organization work lng on practical lines. The theat Heal center is In New York the audience is all . America. That is one reason why the Church ; and Drama League of America is or ganized the way it is, with local centers wherever there is an inter est in the drama, and headquarters m wevr Yorlc,, . -- "This practical organization is a service organization. In whatever way you express your interest m the theatre, , the Church and Drama League is organized to render serv ice. Do you want to participate in a local little theatre? The Little Theatre Alliance, a department of tne Church and Drama League,- is ready tq advise ja o organization. tne choice of plays, production problems, equipment, management, coaching, and the; jjQore. of .other quesuons tnat arise." , SEE EM AND IIEAR I - , TEM AT OBPILEUM j i IIavent you often wondered just what Moran and Mack the Two Black Crows, r looked and acted like? Haven't r you thought how much funnier they; would be if you could see as well as hear them put on their; hilarious record and radio sketches? r Now, you don't have to wonder any longer.. Moran and Mack, the Two Black Crows have made their first movie, an all talking Paramount Para-mount picture called "Why Bring That Up?" in which they Introduce many of their best selling record hits and a bevy of new f unisms.
