Robert Jex for several days of the week a family party was held Monday Mon-day evening at the Jex home, by tlfe immediate relatives of Mrs. Hale. The time was -spent enjoying informal 500 and at 11 o'clock an oyster supper was served, covers being laid for the following: Mrs. Url Stewart, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bry-an Stewart, Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jex and family; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stewart, Mrs. Effie Dart, the guests of honor and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Turner. " Honoring Mrs. Engberg Johnson the occasion being the 83rd anniversary anni-versary of her birth, a group of ladies took luncheon and pleasantly pleas-antly surprised Mrs. Johnson Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. The time was spent quilting a quilt for Mrs Johnson. At 6 o'clock the guests served luncbteon. Those present were Mrs. Frank Turner, Mrs. Dena Bowen, Mrs. Helga Jones, Mrs. JEllen Chrlstensen, Mrs. Christine Chris-tine Bearnson: and Mrs. Emma Johnson. The members of the Double X club were entertained Thursday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Roman. Dinner was served at small tabels at 8 o'clock to twenty members and four special guests , Mr. and Mrs. Dean York and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Swanner. Assisting the hostess in serving were Miss Cora Jones, Genevieve and Phyllis Roman. Progressive 500 followed, Mr. and Mrs. George Newitt winning the club prize and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Swanner the guest prize. Mr. and Mrs. Uri Stewart, Jr., are visiting for a few days at Beaver with Mr. and Mrs. Lew Mar Price. Following the American Legion dance at Salem Saturday night, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Stewart entertained entertain-ed a group of friends at a luncheon and had a very enjoyable time.
