EFFEE DART Correspondent The following couples enjoyed a mountain party Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Martenson and children; chil-dren; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crump and children, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Boyack and children,- Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bradford and children, Mr. and Mrs. Chic DeGraw and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Loren Grotegut and son. Mrs. Merle Bradford and Mrs. Florence DeGraw attended a shower one afternoon last week in honor of Mrs. Johnnie Oliver, formerly for-merly Miss Mary Jones, at the home of her mother, Mrs. Joseph E. Jones at Provo. Mrs. Neil Thomas and Mrs. El-don El-don Palfreyman, the latter of Springrville, were joint hostesses at a social Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Wm. A. Cbrna-by, Cbrna-by, in honor of Mrs. Karl Nielson of Chicago, who has been spending spend-ing the past month here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ammon Tuttle, and who is returning to Chicago, Wednesday evening. Mr. Nielson is studying medicine in Shicago. The afternoon was spent in visiting in a social way and at 5 o'clock a dainty luncheon was served, the color scheme being carried out in yellow and white. The guests were former friends of Mrs. Neilson, who are spending the summer vacations in Spanish Fork and included: Mrs. Aldon Tanner, Salt Lake; Mrs. Blair Thomas, Alhambra, California; Califor-nia; Mrs. F. G. Frampton, San Francisco, California; Mrs. Owen Rowe, Manti; Mrs. Maurice Bird, Springville; Mrs. Clark Williams, Mrs. Claude Williams, Miss Lora Bowen, Miss Mary Rigtrup and Miss Gladys Gardner, Spanish Fork. . Honoring Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Fullmer, a wedding reception for 200 relatives and friends was held Monday evening at the Fifth ward amusement hall, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hone being: the hosts. Dancing was the main diversion. A short program was given with a vocal solo by Mrs. Ruth Snell, accompanied by Mrs. Blanche Nielsen; a reading by Nadine Hansen, and a toast to the bride and groom by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hawkins of Benjamin. At 11:30. a delicious light luncheon lunch-eon was served at small tables. The young couple received many useful and beautiful gifts. Mr. and IMrs. Ollie Whitelock and four, children, of Acoma, Nevada, Ne-vada, left Sunday for their home after spending a week here with relatives and friends. Sunday they were entertained at a chicken chick-en dinner by Mr. and Mrs. Uri Stewart, Jri Barbara Stewart accompanied them home and will spend the summer with them. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Thomas of Kalispell, Montana, arrived here Tuesday to visit for two weeks with Utah relatives. At Spanish Fork they were the guests of Mr. Thomas' parents, Mr. and Mrs. j M. M. Thomas; at American Fork they will visit Mrs. Thomas' mother, Mrs. W. A. Robinson and family; in Salt Lake City they will visit their son, Mr. and Mrs. j Carl Chase and son Dickie. The! remainder of the time will be spent visiting other relatives. Mr. Thomas is manager of the J. C. Penney store at Kalispell. Mrs. Maud Ludlow was hostess to the Utopia club at her home at Benjamin, Thursday night. Luncheon was served at the card tables at ' 8 o'clock. Five tables of bridge followed, Mrs. Blanche Gardner winning the club prize j forfhigh score, and Mrs. Altai Larsen the guest prize. Additional Addi-tional guests were Mrs. Winnie Hawkins. Mrs. Pearl Hand, Mrs. Grace Hayward, Mrs. Clara Ludlow, Lud-low, Mrs. Pauline Richardson and Miss Bessie Houghton, the latter assisted the hostess in serving. Miss Rhea Huntington of Pal myra ward entertained the N. M.-Zo-Wee club, Tuesday evening. A Miss Margaret Zabriskie and Dorothy Hansen winning the high scores, and Miss Maxine Thomas the low score. A delicious lunch-con lunch-con was served to the following: Helen Money, Loa Nelson, Dorothy Doro-thy and Erma Hanson, Vivian Johnson, Grace Roach, Maxine Thomas, Mildred Sorenson, Myrle Banks, Mrs. Margaret Zabriskie and the hostess. On Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Vivian West gave a dinner party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan West, and on Sunday evening eve-ning the high school graduating class of 1916 called a class party in compliment to them. The social was given by Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Larson and Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Wright at the home of the latter. The members who were in attendance attend-ance were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olpin, Heber; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ash, Lehi; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Walker, American Fork; Mr. and Barratt, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mrs. Frank Newman, Mrs. Leone Told, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Olpin, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Beck, the hosts and hostesses and the guests of honor. Mrs. May Olpin Morteson of Ephraim is visiting with her mother, Mrs. Inez Olpin. S. A. The third year 4-H cooking club of the Manila ward met at the home of Margaret and Beth Wad-ley Wad-ley Wednesday afternoon. They were given a lesson in bread-making bread-making by their leaders Miss Helen Monson and Miss La Raine Swenson. Mrs. Isaac Sundberg and son Elwood returned the first ot the week from New York, where they have been visiting with Mrs. Sundberg's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cullimore for the past month. Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Thornton were pleasantly surprised at the A. K. Thornton home Saturday evening. The affair was in compliment com-pliment to Rollo's birthday anniversary. anni-versary. A delightful social of the week was the Third ward M. I. A. lawn party held on the church grounds. The affair was in honor of the retiring M. I. Mrs. Wallace West and Mrs. Josie Christiansen of Salt Lake were in Pleasant Grove Thursday. Asper To Play Frank W. Asper, Salt Lake tabernacle tab-ernacle organist, will play at the Utah stake tabernacle Wednesday, Wednes-day, July 18, at 8:30 o'clock, under un-der the a uspices of the Brigham Young university. Mr. Asper will present an interesting, inter-esting, varied program. SERVICES FOR W.LHAYES PLEASANT GROVE At the funeral services held in the Tim-panogos Tim-panogos stake tabernacle Thursday, Thurs-day, July 12, for William L. Hayes, the large audience of friends, the huge -oan-w of beautiful beauti-ful blooms, spoke silent tribute to the high esteem felt for the departed by the people of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove and neighboring cities. Benjamin Walker of the Seventies' Seven-ties' quorum conducted the services. serv-ices. Invocation was offered by C. L. Warnick. The speakers were Patriarch S. L. Swenson. President W. W. Warnick of Pleasant Grove, Elder J. Golden Kimball. Salt Lake, and President Presi-dent Clifford E. Young of the Alpine stake. Musical numbers were a vocal trio by Mrs. Delbert. Fugal, Mrs. C. O. Jensen, and Mrs. H. P. Jones; vocal solo, "My Faith in Thee," Mrs. Velma Rasrauson of Provo; two violin solos. Prof. Le-Roy Le-Roy Robertson, Provo; vocal solo, "The City Four Square," Mrs. Clifford E. Young; instrumental music, Prof. Alexander Schreiner, Salt Lake.
