Much Attention to That Department at ..the Brigham Young University. Wednes-.- . and Tonight For many years after the inventory had demonstrated, that the wireless; telegraphy was no mere fad, but was destined to become one of the greatest factors for good in the industrial life of the world, the wireless experts claimed that the service would never )e of. any particular value in the Roeky Mountains. They argued that the air (fhrrents would be so broken that the sound would not carry to the aerials erected in the valleys. Two Utah, boys, Sidney Sperry of Salt Lake City, and Arnold Robison, thenineteen yeat. old son of Drr George E. Robison of this city, have both intercepted messages' from the coast and before long the boys may be in a position to give out some very valuable information. Young Robison became interested in the wireless more than a year ago, but until a few weeks ago he was unable to get into the real work. lie then bought the apparatus and with the assistanceof Elwood Bachman, another wire' less enthusiast of the city, erected the aerial extending from the top ; of the Robison home to the barn. Then the appartus was tried out and soon the first wireless station of Provo was working very successfully. Provos pioneer wireless operator was ready, to get messages from the coast. The news of the success of the first wireless station spread among ' the boys and before long he was kept busy answering the questions the boys put to him on the new innovation. Elwood Bachinan soon fell to the call of the wireless and he, too, will soon enter the field of operators The last recruit is Fred Taylor, but others are making inquiries and within the next ' few weeks Provo will be able to boast of a real live Aerial Club, and aereograms will be flying through the atmosphere from one point. to another with marked regularity, Sunday night a party' gathered at the home of Dr, Robison and for sometime enoyed the sensation of listening to aereograms -sent out from some point on the coast. As of the boys .. Manager F. W. Freese, general manager of the Utah County Gas and Power Company, returned home from the East Sunday and reports conditions very favorable for the future.
