PAGE FIVE THE PROVO POST Everything UNDERPRICED lliose "Who were fortunate enough to attend the Arizona program given by, former citizens of that wonderful state in the - Combination Third ward amusement hall last Saturday night were treated -- to three very worthy features. Perhaps we are justified, in stating - that the first of these features was the well delivered illustrated 'lectures on the characteristic life, the minerals and vegetation and climatic conditions of our neighboring state Which were illustrat- ed.with recent views; many of them in beautiful natural colors, by Mrs. Orson Shill and .Mr. Roy Passey, both of whom spoke from personal knowledge due to long - residence in Arizona. The next most interesting feature was the information as to real conditions in Arizona which will forever set at rest in the minds of the hearers of mis apprehension as to the desirability of a residence in Arizona for a treasure and profit. It now appears as if too little is n o wrrbf the wonderful gen e ra u climate, the natural resources and -- the richness of the soil in our southern neighboring state. ' Lastly, special mention should be made of theheautiful and poet- ic compositions rendered by Pro- fessor C. R. Johnson, Mrs. 'Rose Kartchner and Roy Frisby who sang the state anthem and other popular Arizona songs that found a flattering reception from all present and very noticably the feelings of former sons - and ' daughters of Arizona who were Z present. 7AH in all the entertainment was a rare treat that gave all their and- - reflected moneys-wo- rth great credit upon the state whose, name it was given. We note that Arizona produces Targe crops of datesV olives, figs and oranges. Some of the import-- ant features were the Roosevelt " farms, orange and almond orchards. The cultivation of cotton is rapidly increasing, farmers realizing a net profit o $80 per acre. mining resources are most famons, and in the production of copper, she ranks first in the United States, having surpassed Montana for the past few years. The output of the Copper Queen mine for March, 1914, was 12,928,000 pounds of copper; her monthly payroll is $600,000 per month.
