Jensen was elected chairman on arrangements for next year's Saturday Nite Dancing Danc-ing club season, during the cluib dance Saturday evening at the Elks' home. Dr. Jensen succeeds Heber C. Johnson, who has served during this year's delightful and highly successful parties. , Dr. Jensen will name his committee within the near future. Steineckert's orchestra furnish ed the music. Un invitational affair is being planned by the club for the evening eve-ning of Saturday, March 11, at Memorial hall in Springville. Dr. J. J. Weights Are Tendered Dinner Party A well appointed dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Redd Friday evening at their home, in compliment to Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Weight. Dr. Weight is leaving-the Utah State hospital to enter the new Utah Valley hospital. An evening of games and music was enjoyed toy Dr. and Mrs. Weight, Mr. and Mrs. George S. Ballif, Mr. and Mrs. Claude S. Ashworth, Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Alder, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McKell and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Weight A handsome blue crystal bowl held jonquils, and blue jcandles vere in crystal candelabra. Mother Tendered Birthday Dinner Honoring her mother, Mrs. Josephine Y. Carter, on the occasion oc-casion of her birthday anniversary, annivers-ary, Mrs. Gladys C. Nielsen, proprietor pro-prietor of the Valley Tavern at Springville, entertained a group of Provo friends at the Tavern Sunday. A -sumptuous dinner was served at 6 o'clock, the dining table being be-ing beautifully arranged with red roses and candles. Places were set or Mrs. Carter, Car-ter, Mrs. R. Garn Clark, Mrs. S. ' C. Adams, Mrs. I. EI Brockbank, Mrs. Fred Larsen, Mrs. Benjamin Bach man, Mrs. Luna Robbins, Mrs. Isa belle Haws, Mrs. A. L. Booth, Miss Editha Booth, and Miss Dorothy Haymond of Springville. Spring-ville. Mrs. Clark sang' two lovely numbers, "I Love You Truly," and "Perfect Day," accompanied by Miss Haymond. Beautiful gifts were presented to the honree. Birthday Surprise Given By Family An evening of games, music and luncheon was enjoyed by the group surprising Mrs. R. C. Buffet Supper Follows Dance After the Happy Hour Dancing club party at the Utah State hospital hos-pital ballroom Saturday night, Mr. and Mrs. Leo B. Hales entertained enter-tained a small group at a buffet supper at their home. Red tulips and candles made the table beautiful. Included in the party were the Henry Falkners, Don Innes' andv Edward Halls. Little Sister's Sis-ter's reefer, of herringbone tweed, is in a stone gray shade, and ' " Littler Sister's is in tan. - Play Cast At Dinner Miss Jean Reese gave a dinner party Saturday evening at her home, for the members of the cast of a one-act play which she recently re-cently directed for the Provo high school dramatic art club. Patriotic motifs made the table attractive and after dinner, progressive pro-gressive "George Washington" and Chinese checkers were played. play-ed. Miss Ruth Hansen won the high score prize and Lorin Johnson, John-son, consolation. Those present were Miss Ruth ' Hansen, Rex Miner, Miss Melba Mendenhall, Laurence Graham, Miss Luana Porter, Lorin Johnson and Miss Jean Reese. Bridge Club Entertained Mrs. Glen Simmons was hostess to members of the Thursday Afternoon Aft-ernoon Bridge club at her home, the affair proving a delightful function of last week. As guests, there were present Mrs. J. B. Somo, Mrs. Russell Til-ton Til-ton and Mrs. Dean Tilton, and the club members present included Mrs. Jean Hoover, Mrs. Hugh Jolley, Mrs. Bud Nilsson, Mrs. Albert Al-bert Hicknian, Mrs. Whit Hoover Hoov-er and Mrs.. Bob Bullock. Mrs. Whit Hoover won the high score favor and Mrs. Russell Til-ton Til-ton the second prize. After cards, a tasty repast was served, the dining table being covered with a beautiful yellow cloth. A centerpiece cen-terpiece of acacia and Spanish iris proved attractive. U, -Em Anon social unit proved a delightful affair of Sat urday night at the Farrer junior high school gym. A "county fair" theme was car ried out and many of the 125 couples in attendance appeared in costume. Fay Hlcken was award ed the costume prize. rtea, wnue ana Diue streamers and ballons were combined to form the clever decorations, and animal crackers and "pink" lemonade lem-onade were served. Miss, Idoh Chadwick was chairman, chair-man, assisted by the Misses Evelyn Eve-lyn Dixon, Lucile Madsen and Elaine Skeem. Franklin P. T. A. Social Successful An enjoyable affair of Saturday afternoon, was the luncheon given by the Franklin P. T. A. at the school, the last ora series of three public card socials. Snriner decorations were ar- C ranged about the room and were featured in the tasty luncheon served. Twelve tables of bridge, rook and Chinese checkers were played during the afternoon. Mrs. Hilda Allen won the bridge prize, Mrs. Johnson, the favor for rook, and Mrs. Vincent, for Chi nese checkers. Series prizes went to Mrs. Howard Harris, for 500, and Mrs. Helen Cole for contract. Mrs. Einil K. Nielsen, wife of Principal Nielsen, Miss Helen De Graff, Miss Ruby Hansen and Miss Hazel Fletcher, teachers, were among those present. Splendid programs have been prepared and the women of the wards are cordially invited to attend. FIRST WARD The social service committee will be in charge, Mrs. Clara Wilson Wil-son to give the lesson. The class for the young mothers will be in charge of Mrs. Milton Marshall, who will give the lesson on "Education "Edu-cation for Family Life." A nursery nur-sery will be open for the children. SECOND WARD A membership -social will be held in the chapel, 'instead of the Relief society hall, and the B. Y. U. Public Service bureau wili pre-sent pre-sent the program. A one-act play, 'Paternity Case," directed by Preston Gledhill, will be presented by the following cast: Miss Gwen Johnson. Rulon Romney nd Miss Margaret Sorenson. Two piano solos will be played by Miss Amy Cox and Max Mendenhall will sing two numbers. Music will be furnished by the choir. A nursery will be open for the youngsters. FOURTH WARD The social service lesson, "Psychology "Psy-chology of Physical Health," will be presented by Mrs. Algie E. White Keys Make Plans for Week End White Keys of the B. Y. U. met Sunday afternoon at the home of Marjorie Killpack, a candy pull and games being the diversions. Plans were completed for the trip to Logan and Salt Lake City to see the basketball games Friday Fri-day and Saturday. Friday, the girls are to be guests in Salt Lake of the Spurs, University of Utah pep organization.
