Chicago Bathing Suit Law of Ws Agair In Force CHICAGO, Dec. 18. (U.R) The vote of the city council forbidding tnyone to swim in less than a pair of billowy bloomers and an old-fashioned old-fashioned blouse is giving the city its first midwinter bathing beach controversy. The Polar Bear club," whose members swim in icy Lake Michigan Michi-gan every week of the winter, appeared ap-peared most affected by the restoration restora-tion of the bathing suit laws of vhe nineties. The club has long been proud its members wore only briefest brief-est costumes in their arctic dips. The startling action by the council coun-cil came after Alderman T. J. O'Gracy revealed what he called "a real crisis." "Gentlemen," the alderman said. "We must atft at once. The city is without a bathing suit law and swimming in the nUde today would be perfectly legal." On O'Orady's suggestion the ancient an-cient code, was re-established '"temporarily. '"tem-porarily. The" situation came about when the council repealed all swimming swim-ming orc'niances in. an effort to draft an effective one, thus leaving the city with no law at all oh the subject. ' '. - ' .
