A report on the Christmas lighting project was submitted showing that $206. was collected from business houses and turned over to the city. For the street lighting a total of 1000 lights were prepared but only 800 used due to insufficient transformers. This will be taken care of before another year. ' The club extended a vote of appreciation ap-preciation to the business people lor their hearty support and also to the Strawberry Water Users association for electric power. A report on the college basketball game sponsored by the J.- C. C. was given. UKJVltf Payson Contest PAYSON" Judging in the Junior Ju-nior chamber of commerce home lighting contest in Payson was completed Tuesday night 'by the judges, Louis A. Bates, Payson high school principal, fcfiss Elva Eardley, art director at the school and Mrs.. Lucille Spencer. S. Roland Lindsay, Second South and First West streets, took first place, Mrs. Emma Wilson, 462 East First South, second, and Dr. A. L. Reporter Phone 026-R-3 , Approximately four hundred pupils of the Spencer School took part in the Christmas operetta "Santa Claus' Success" presented Tuesday evening at the Lincoln high auditorium. A very splendid performance was given under the direction of Mr. Wm. M. Vernon. Miss. Dorothy Jones was in charge of the costuming which, was .elaborate .elab-orate and beautiful. The leading characters were taken by Elizabeth Eliza-beth Gordon, Russell Hansen, Josephine Shepherd, Leonard Ras-mussen, Ras-mussen, . Derdine Terry, Gordon, de Lange, Leland Gordon, Don Fountain, Booth Maycock, Hellen1 Bunnell, Helen Brown and Jesse j Burr. These characters were supported sup-ported by special choruses for singing and dancing. Mr. Vernon was assisted by all of the teachers teach-ers of the school. There was a large and appreciative audience in- attendance. The Junior girls of the Sharon ward M. I. A. enjoyed an open night Tuesday evening. Thieves Steal Wash From Clothes Line Petty thievery cases have recently re-cently been reported by families residing in the southwest section of Provo, the latest coming from Mrs. Caroline Manson of Fifth South and Tenth West streets. Mrs. Monson reports that while she was absent from her home a few minutes Saturday, someone stole articles of new underclothing undercloth-ing from her clothes line. Tanner Tan-ner which occurred at a Butte, Montana hospital Sunday. Mr. Tanner was engaged in the cattle business at Myton, Utah, for many years and inoved to Twin Bridges, Mont., jsix years ago. He was born in Payson, in- 1871 son of Dan D. and Rebecca Re-becca Moore Tanner. His wife Phoebe Tidwell died several years ago. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Charles B. Tanner, Twin Bridges, Mont.; J. Myron Tannei Fairview ; Ivan L. Tanner, Blackfoot, Idaho; Mrs. D. W. Cazier and 14rs. Otto Egge, Filer, Idsm; Mrs. Lafe Carter and Mrs. A. Ba Fotland, Provo.
