Show There is no lack of harmony in democra ic ranks in Utah, while there is absolutely no harmony among the republicans. Ogden and Salt Lake are both honeycombed with the bitterest republican' feuds. The Tribune sets ita own lacK of harmony with the ticket in full public view every morn ing. Their speakers do the same every night from every rostrum, while in democratic lines no whisper of quarrel is heard. Each liegeman has his coat off and is battling manfully for the whole ticket. There is not an instance of bad blood or bad feeling to be found anywhere in the party. This will tell with force next Tuesday. Tiie coward in I street dare not write himself, but he scans the field of similar sheets and ghouhshly snatches from their filthy columns what is dirty enough to suit him. He can rearly always find something in the Press at Ogden that comes down to his own level. The filthy character of the editor of the Enquirer is such that the wonder is that the cisanly Mormon people who bate a woman betrayer like poison, can tolerate him. We know many of these, whe are fierce republicans also, who are becoming very tired of him, and propose to move for his removal.or who will withdraw their patronage from the paper he disgraces. Judge Powers made no attack upon the first presidency of the church, either by innuendo or otherwise, in his speech here, although the Enquirer and some of its republican cohorts would like to turn it that way so as to get some church sympathy In favor of their party. Judge Powers put some questions to Frank Cannon i or reasons which he has explained. But even if Judgo Powers had criticised the first presidency, what effect should that have on the election? He it n't the democratic party and it isn't bound by his statements. Surely the repubs, are in a bad boat. The circular which was issued against George Crane of Kanosh, our candidate foi delegate to the constitutional constitu-tional convention, supposedly by and with the knowledge and consent of his brother, Charley Crane, the claim-all chairman ot the republican executive committee of the territory, is the most monstrous production in the English language and forever disgraces the man who penned it, the man who printed it, and all who had anything whatever to do with it. That one brother could treat another in such a way seems impossible. im-possible. The method is worthy only of the veriest savage in Zululand. Democrats should procure as many copies as possible of the republican circular entitled "County Salaries' and show it to their neighbors. It con tains about the boldest and clumsiest attempt to gull the people that has yet been sent forth by that party. Remember Re-member it was in the fall of 1891 when the democrats came into power in this county. Read the republican circular in the light of that fact and then tell the people what you think of republican republi-can honesty. As a campaign paper the Deseret News does not take high rank. Its Belf-sufficiency and general egotism render it very rediculous. Its gra -uitous explanation" of Wednesday evening is a piece of the mott offensive vinity ever seen before in print. There is venom and falsehood in i but the g iod feeling proper to a religious organ is looked fcr in vain. Religious reconstruction recon-struction is imperatively demanded. The Tribune has Joe, Rawlins retiring retir-ing from the canvass. Tte wiBh is pater to that thought and that is all there is in it. Joe. has been a deer ly driven thorn in the t ide of the reps, this campaign, and they would gladly retire him if they could. Ho. 0. F. Whitney will be at the opera house with Judge H. W. Smith on Monday night. Let ub all turn out and give these eloquent democrats a rousing welcome. Mr. Whitney is said to be one of. the most eloquent speakers in Utah. Be sure you get your ticket for the constitutional convention deh gates on blue paper, put it in a blue envelope and into the right box. The other ticket will be on buff paperpat it into a buff envelop? and into the proper box. The Zanea are in the saddle and every now and then one hears a Cannon Can-non in the intervals. But "our flag is still there," The war in the republican camp at Ogden is growing bitter and eventfut. Mr.Glassman is right in the middle of it'. He has more libel suits than you can shake a stick at, and ali Hied by re-I re-I publicans. The Enquirer essays the task of belittling be-littling Judge Henderson's great speech Tuesday night. It is a feather duster attempting to sweepMt.Nebo into in-to Utah lake. What a i ol it is to be sure. The Enquirer is very much alarmed ! because some republican voters' names are stricken off the registry lists. It is ia a fearlul tremble,is this innocent Enquirer En-quirer of ours. " . The Enquirer gravely rebukes the younger voters in its party for. wanting to trade republican for democratic voteB. THETiibune does itsell no credit when it insinuates that Heber J.Grant's name went on ihe registration list out of time. Turn out tverjbody to Lear Hons. O. F. Whitney and U. W. Smith Monday n ght at tha opera house. Joiisny Zane receives the compliments compli-ments of the Herald editor, and still is dcg htppj. Smith and Whitney at the opera house Monday night. They still claim the county bv 400 majority. Ha! ha! |
