His expose of spiritualistic spirit-ualistic frauds was very clever and very i satisfactory, unaouineuiy me excue- : J ment of Saturday, occasioned by the riot of the commonwealers and the quelling of the same by the officers of the law, together with the fact of the i regular running of trains that day, making it very uncertain that the wiz ard would be here, was the cause of the slim house on Saturday evening. A Sunday evening's entertainment is a new thing in Provo, and there was not sufficient time to advertise it well, hence a slim audience again greettd Mr. Eliason on that evening. There were hundreds in the city who did not know the show was given. The second audience, however, was larger than the first. Mr. Eliason shows this (Monday) (Mon-day) evening at Springville. The commonwealers commonweal-ers said they would die in their tracks before they would leave the engine, and to deputize a sufficient number of men, and arm them, lo compel that body of 300 men to give up the train would have been a very heavy expense ' to the county. Th campaign cam-paign of the dav was well planned and well carried out by the officers. It is a shame and a pity that they found, so much opposition among bur own citizens. citi-zens. Sympathy with unfortunates and sympathy with law breakers are two widely different things, although one was taken for the other in Provo on Saturday laet. Twenty-six of the leaders of the "army," other than Carter, were arrested ar-rested on Saturday evening after The Dispatch went to press. They were all taken to Salt Lake to answer for contempt of court inasmuch as they eeized a train from the possession of receivers appointed by the government, in defiance of an order made by Judge Merritt. D. D. Houtz and M. M. War ner of this city are defending Carter with the assistance of some of Salt Lake's legal lights. The trial begins be-gins tomorrow. All went merry as a marriage bell until about 9:30 o'clock wfien the couple vere driving north along K street. One shaft broke near the buggy axle and fell down upon the horse's heels. Jeffreys Lewis, the favorite emo tional actress, and her very excellent company make a two night's stand at Provo this week, Friday and Saturday evenings, playing "Forget Me Not" and "La Belle llusse." This is a rare treat indeed for our theatre-goers. Chief Fowler acted quietly, unex-citedly, unex-citedly, determinedly and effectively all day on Saturday in 6uch a way as togain the ill-will of commonwealers. and to come in for his share of the abuse that was so unwisely heaped upon the shoulders of Governor West, the militia, the armed force of marshals from Salt Lake, Judge Smith, Mayor llolbrook and the many others who were woiking so strenuously in behalf of law and order. "General" Carter has known all along tuat no serious objections would be raised if his men went east in equadH of fifteen or twenty at a time on different trains. Of course they could not travel in sleepers. He knows also that the R. G. W. will not permit the "army" to go far with a stolen train, and he is learning now that it is bad policy to monkey with Uncle Sam's property. Fred M. Then in January, 1893, 1 had an attack of the grip, and was confined con-fined to my room ten weeks. After this attack I was still very weak and did not gain health at all until I began to take Hood's Sarsaparilla. I had no appetite for anything, and was sick at my stomach continually and had a bad taste In my mouth. Some friends who were taking Hood's Sarsaparilla begged me to try it. My parents had despaired of anything doing me good, but began to give me the medicine, and before I had taken one bottle there was such A Change for the Better that they were glad to have me continue. The second bottle did for me what no medicine had ever done. It gave me strength and brought my general health up to where it was two weeks Hood's Cures before I was taken with the measles.
