Collings 1919 ~ 2009 2009 1946 ~ 2009 Chester Ammon Stone,90,of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on Father's Day, Sunday, June 21, He was born January 26, 1919 in Salem, Utah to Ammon Oliver and Roycie Arvilla Sheffield Stone. He married Shirley Rust on June 7, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. ter grew up in Salem and graduated from Spanish Fork High Schoolin 1937. He received a Master of Arts Degree in Music from Brigham Young University He served his country during WWII in the Navy, in the Pacific Theater. He taught music, math and world geographyat Pleasant Grove High School and Junior High for many years. He also taught music at the Church College of Hawaii (now BYU Hawaii) for four years. Chester was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in manycallings. He was dearly loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wite Shirley of Pleasant Grove; four children: Sandra (Rolan) Johnson Pleasant Grove; Shirl “Rocky” (Su zanne) Stone, Alpine, Calvin (Nancy) Stone, Orem; and Craige (Jackie) Stone, West Jordan; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Vaunda Box, American Fork and sister-in-law Lola Stone, Spanish Fork. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amber Stone and daughter-in-law, Shelley Sorensen Stone. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m, in the Battlecreek Second Ward Chapel, 1280 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Friends maycall Wednesdayevening trom 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Thursdayonehour prior to services.
