Boatner So A rash of spills took the BYU ski team out of contention for the National Collegiate Ski Association title Saturday, but the Cougars still finished a strong third in the combined event. Cougar athletes turned in several fine performances in the meet. In the nordic event, BYU cross country runner Nancy Anderson joined the ski squad and had an excellent showing. Anderson finished second in the women's 7.5 kilometer race early in the week, then anchored the 3x5k relay team that took fourth. In that relay, the BYU team was in ninth position (out of 10 teams) going into the last leg of the race, when Anderson took over and passed five skiers. McCALL, Idaho citation.
