The district covers Provo, Vineyard and south ar Orem. Hellewell admits he hasn't campaigned much, mainly because Firmer says she doesn't want to win. "I would just as soon see Mr. Hellewell win," Firmer said. "I just think it would be awful to be in politics. I'm interested in economics and telling people how we are really getting off track. I just want to get ideas out." Firmer, who is opposed to almost all forms of taxation and government, said she is against the proposed commuter rail tax and would even like to see the public education system dismantled. "It would be so simple to get .together people in the neighborhood and have a school," she said. "There are teachers and people in the neighborhood who could come in and teach a class here and there." Government has become too large, she said. "They've got so much money they don't know what to do with it," she said. Morley and Penrod are candidates for a term in the Utah House of Representatives from District 66, which includes Woodland Hills, Salem, Elk Ridge and parts of Spanish Fork. As the father of nine children, Morley said he would do anything "to strengthen what I consider traditional family values and the family as a unit." Morley said he opposes commuter rail in Utah County unless it could be done without raising taxes. Penrod said he filed for the election to give voters an alternative. "I'm running because there was a need for someone to fill the Democratic seat," he said. Education is key to his campaign, he said. Too many teachers are leaving Utah for other states "because they can't make enough to feed their families," he said. "Commuter rail between here and Salt Lake has some good possibilities depending on how much it is going to be," he said.
