The plant Is being built directly west of the byproducts coke oven of the Columbia Steel corporation, from which It will get the entire output of coal tar. More than 60 men are employed at n the constructicon work. The company of Salt Lake City, which did the concrete work for the blast furnace and the stoves at the steel plant, has the contract for the building of the plant Concrete la now being poured for the foundation of the plant of the creosote company. Thla building Is erected In the weBt part of the plant site. The foundation for the power house and refinery has been completed and construction of the walls and roof will commence In a short time. Tha large stills and tanks that will be erected in the refinery are on the ground and will be placed in position before the other construction work Is resumed. One of the eight large storage tanks to be erected at the plant has been completed, four are under construction and work on the others M ill commence shortly. These tanks are 'large cylindrical sheet Iron cisterns resembling gas storage tanks. The building of the pipe lines from the coke ovens to the creosote plant will also be started in the near future. One of these lines will convey the tar to the creosote plant and the other will carry the gas to be used nt the plant and which will also be furnished by the steel cor poration. Work on the plant Is being rushed so flmt it will be completed and ready for operation about the time sufficient conl tar has accumulated at the steel company coke ovens to assure its operation.
