The Brlghom Young unlvorslly basketball gijuud Is moving like a Kansas cyclone this week nnl Couch Twltchell Is (jHitely coiifulent thut his proteges will not tuke n double defeat at the hands of the fast developing University of Utah quintet when these two teams go into conflict here at Provo lu'xt Friday and Saturday evening. There Isn't a player on the "Y" team that does not feel perfectly confident of winning at least one of the two battles against the Red Devils from the state institution, In spite of the fact that the Utes made as good a showing agaiust the Utah Aggies ou the Aggies own floor as did the Brigham Youngsters did aglnst the Farmers right here in r" ' Provo. "We outplayed the Utah Aggies In both of our Provo contests," remarked Reed Stewart, "and lost to them the first evening merely on account of freak luck. Utah has im proved mightily sinee we defeated them twice in Salt Lake City, but we are also an eiitirelv different team. We were just as unfinished as was the state school team at Salt Lake City. Our teamwork is getting started and we expect to wiu over Utah by a close margin in both of the games, if the "breaks' are even." Dunn Taylor, the fast and sure basket shot, who was entered into the "Y" line-uiu time to pull his team out of the fire for a victory in Colorado-liiighathe recently Young basketball scries, is practicing daily on his favorite long shots. Taylor bus an eye for the basket unsurpassed by any player in the slate and he will undoubtedly trouble the state s 'hoi men considerably when defense they settle on their as they most likely will when the Provo team yets possession i( the ball. Miss China Princess, who holds tbe world's record of the Jersey breed for nine years and 11 months production, holds the state championship iu the nge class of all breeds with a record of Tii.'i pounds of fat and 14,.'i2! pounds of milk. Merry Maiden's Betty holds the $25 210 S. MAT AND mm 9 imimMm 8 j j Henry Jones and Pete Allis to- night decid- whether Chicago or Provo produces the best welter- weight wrestler. Pete hails from the city by Lake Michigan and Henry waves the pennant of the city by Lake Utah. Although Pete is serious in his belief that he can pin Henry's shoul ders to i tie mat, not many others entertain that same notion. Pete is all right iu Chicago where he regularly trounces ambitious welterweights and a lot of the light heavies, but Pete lias to be better tonight than he ever was to beat Jones. He may get a fall, but it will take two to win the match. Boxing and wrestling are to be mixed up not a little at the Armory match wiil tonight. The .Tones-Alli- s be the premier wrestling offering. Then the two sports will mix with a combination wrestling-boxinuumlier, with Red Belcher on the mit end and n noted amateur on the wrestling job. Young Murray, of Los Angeles both are of suiHTlor quality. Should Ingersoll go out on personal fouls or for any other cause his place can be taken by young Romney as far as individual ability is concerned. Romney, however, does not fit into the team quite as well as Ingersoll since he has not been given as much opportunity to play with bis teammates as the rangy American Forker. Coach Twitchell was compelled to make an early choice and neglect one of the players. g M-- 4 F-1- 3 Corse-Twi- n F-1- 7 corset-brassier- 5 F-1- 3 d F-3- 1 , per month: 1st E. Phone GARDENS. The three Utah colleges have an unusual supply of good centers this year. The University of Utah has Gillispie and Collet ; the Utah Aggies have Hammond, Baker and Crowther and the Brigham Youngsters boast of Ingersoll and Romuey. Gillispie will be remembered as having won an high school berth some' time ago, while Collet has also been favorably mentioned as the best college center in Utah. Hammond, the Utah Aggie veteran, has played four years of college ball and has been frequently selected as the best let in the college center position.
