The coaches, too, are entering into the spirit of the contest and are doing all they can to win the con test Director Roberta is out in war naint and feathers to show Coach Twitchell and bis minions that the frosh are a nifty machine capable of doing battle with the best of them. For the past several nights Director Roberts has had more than two full teams of freshmen wording like Trojans on the field to North, park where the veterans cannot get wise to their simple but effective plays. Although the director Is expecting to plaee his dependence entirely in straight football he has a variety of simple plays that seem to be almost certain ground gainers. His back field composed of Mcintosh, Wilkinson, Dixon, and Bird, la working beauti fully and with a snap that Is likely to bewilder the varsity men, some of whom have had little experlenoej in their positions. . All of the frosh backs are men of long high- - sehool experience working behind a Una of veterans of many a high school battle. The varsity team, on the other hand, Is gradually strengthening as former students arrive, and take their places In the line with the big blue team. Coach Twitchell is sufficiently worried over the prospects of a freshman victory to cause him to w6Vk his team until the men who hare been In but a few days are on the yerge of a col lapse. During this week he has been working his back field in an attempt to get them going well to gether. . Scrimmage .has been the general order of the practice for several evenings past The "T" line is in good shape ex cept that the men are new and may be easily confused when they get into a real game. Fenton Reeves, a husky freshman of last year, put In his appearance last night and demanded a suit His size ana general agility will considerably strengthen the line in case of accident or other trouble that may develop. Although the youngster has had little experience in football, he may be able to make some of the regular line men scramble pretty hard to stick. The rivalry between Director Roberts and Coach Twitchell coupled with the rivalry of the rather evenly matched teams prom is eto make the game Thursday afternoon the most Interesting con test that has ever been played on Timpanogos field.
