Capt. E. H. Eaton's frantic maneuvering of the "District of Columbia" kept her from smashing smash-ing straight into the tanker and setting her 106,000 barrels of gasoline afire. A woman was crushed to death in her stateroom when the vessels collided. She was identified identi-fied as Miss Marian E. McWor-ther, McWor-ther, 24, of Atlanta, Ga. Three others were injured. They were reported in "fair" condition con-dition today at a hospital here. The tanker Georgia was anchored an-chored off old Point Comfort when the crash occurred. Capt. Eaton said he was almost upon the Georgia before he sighted her dead ahead in the fog. He fought desperate) to swerve his ship enough to avoid a collision.
