Second District Judge Rodney S. Page said the Clearfield man exhibited "extreme cruelty and depravity" and should serve a minimum sentence of 15 years. Page ordered the sentences to run concurrently because they arose from the same crime. Lovell was convicted Dec. 13. Testimony of the victim, Joyce Yost. 39, was read to the jury from transcripts of Lovell's preliminary hearing. Ms. Yost's car was found in late August in the foothills east of Ogden. but no trace of the woman has turned up and police believe she is dead.
