In the morning session business matters were discussed, followed by buffet luncheon at noon. A social and entertainment in the afternoon rounded out activities. Price city Elks and their part ners are scheduled to visit the Provo groups Thursday. A, program of piano selections se-lections played by Mrs. Wendell Gillman and community singing entertained the group of 45 vet erans who attended. Mrs. Naomi Peterson, Mrs. Betty Bet-ty Gillman, Mrs. Lola Wljberg and Mrs. Barbara uroaaneaa were those who conducted the enter tainment. The Orem group will also assist as-sist in a similar, entertainment on April 13 when representatives of District Four will be hostesses to the men at the hospital. see Orem Girl Scouts Recall Beginning Of Two Troops OREM Commemorating the 37th anniversary of the organization organiza-tion of the Girl Scouts of America Amer-ica were members of Orem Troops One and Two at special observances held in connection with their regular meetings this week. The organization of Orem Girl Scouts is a recent event, with the first troop being started in 1947 under the direction of Mrs. Roy Dunn who served as troop leader, assisted by Mrs. C. Donald Clayton, and Mrs. Rulon Stubbs, co-leaders.' Sponsors of this first troop are the Orem American Legion Post No. 72 auxiliary. The first troop committee was com posed of Mrs. W. G. Jergensen, Mrs. rnynss Memmott, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Erickson and Mrs. Henry Campbell. The troop grew rapidly and the organization of another troop was begun. Continuing activities of the first troop are Mrs. Rulon Stubbs and Mrs. Everna Park who now serve as leaders, with the pres ent troop being comprised of Mrs. Nelson A. Snow, Mrs. C. Donald Clayton, Mrs. Gladys Spaugy and Mrs. Henry Campbell. Camp-bell. Dec. 16, 1948, a second troop was organized with the Orem Jaycee Wives as sponsors. Crowned Crown-ed as queen of the event was June Nagle, with Elaine McPhie, and Bonnie Jensen as her attendants. at-tendants. Little Neil Madsen was crown bearer, with tiny Rebecca Smith, and Diane Christensen as flower girls. The floor show consisted of ballroom dancing, and vocal solos. Refreshments were served to 200 guests. The table was a striking picture, featuring a center piece of yellow daffodils and green candelabra with yellow tapers on a lace cloth. Morrie Roper, Lorenzo Dunn, Leona Pope, Supora Thaxton and Wanda Ricks, officers of the MIA were in charge of arrangements. a DUP Camp Two Makes Plans Captain Elizabeth Phillips conducted con-ducted the recent meeting of Camp Two, DUP, members at the home of Mrs. Catherine Anderson. An-derson. The group discussed plans fori the county convention which wril take place March 28 in the First LDS ward chapel. Nomination of county officers for two-year terms will be accepted at that time. Delegates and alternates were chosen from Camp Two to attend the sessions. Elva Hoover gave the lesson on "Pioneer Diaries," and showed clippings and pictures of the St. George LDS temple. The camp history was presented by Frances Callahan. Hostesses for the event was Mrs. Anderson, Marietta Whitehead White-head and Lola Thurman, to 22 members. a a Relief Society TENTH WARD 1 A special birthday anniversary party will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. Queen of the ' event was Juanita Stone, with Norma Anderson, Veva Anderson, Dorothy Doro-thy Buchanan and Marilynn Stur-gis Stur-gis as attendants. Little Anna Lee Evans and Kathy Halliday were flower girls, while Harvey Hansgren acted as crown bearer. The queen was crowned by her father, Gerald Stone, and a floorshow, under the direction of Robert and Rula Cluff, was presented. Dancing and vocal numbers were featured attractions on the entertainment agenda. The decorative ' motif was expressed ex-pressed with a large rainbow of pastel colors on the far end of the hall, with azure blue sky over head. On Monday night the Junior Gold and Green ball was held in the same hall. Leah Ruth Crowley Crow-ley was queen, attended by Gwen Rasmussen, Ruth Hawkins, Helen McQuivey and Sandra Nielson. Refreshments were served at both events. Mapleton DUP Camp Meets MAPLETON A short program was enjoyed by Camp Mapleton DUP women when they gathered this week in the Milly Bird home. Music was furnished by Marion Bird and Anna Mae Wardle, who also read a history of the greatgrandfather great-grandfather of Mrs. Bird, John Smith, early Provo settler. Elmer Bird Jr. showed relics owned by the father of John Smith, and Mrs. Alice Johnson gave the lesson. les-son. Fisher as head of the group. Elections were conducted at the R. Doran Johnson John-son home by Mrs. Keith Wilcox in the absence of Mrs. Fisher. S. Ingram and Ellison Holm, son of Mrs. Elieta Holm of Spanish Fork, were united in marriage at the bride's home Feb. 25 at high noon by Bishop T. D. Davis of the Nephi Third ward. The bride was dressed for the occasion in a white satin gown styled with a high neckline, a button to the waist bodice, long sleeves and a full gathered skirt. Her white finger length veil was held in place with a bridal wreath of orange blossoms. For her bouquet bou-quet she carried long stemmed red roses. Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Keith Brock of Green River. Jack Argyle of Spanish Fork, a brother-in-law to the groom, acted as best man. Immediately following the ceremony, cere-mony, the families were served dinner by the bride's mother.
