The two families were close friends when the Faulkner's lived at Spokane. Miss Donna Peterson of Salt Lake is visiting here with her aunt, Mrs. Lydia Hogan and her cousin, Joan HUIsbery. Kenneth Yeates of Ogden is spending the week here with his cousins, Billie and Margaret Faulkner. Ann Rowley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Rowley, Jr., issued clever invitations for her brlth-day brlth-day party on Saturday, honoring her seventh birthday. Games and music were enjoyed. Luncheon was served, a pink and white color scheme being used, with a lovely decorated birthday cake being served to Wallace Brereton, Larry Baum, Richard Jones, Lois Richards, Rich-ards, Janice Taylor. Valdie Gillespie, Gilles-pie, Norma Hull, Melrin Dwayne, Rex Rowley and the hostess, Ann Rowley. Mrs. Sharp Gillespie was pleasantly pleas-antly surprised on her birthday Monday when her mother, Mrs. F. W. Giles and her sister. Miss Sarah Giles and Mrs. Alice Crosby and son, Michael of Salt Lake spent the day with her. Mrs. Louise Learyand daughter are spending a few days in Salt Lake witn her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Billings. ATOC8T . 1044 PAGE 5 Cheese, fruit and crackers make tasty, sppetlxln dessert. BY GAYNOR MADDOX NEA Staff Writer Do you serve eggplant often? You will If you try these exciting excit-ing recipes. Eggplant en Casserole-One Casserole-One large or 2 small eggplants, salt and pepper, H cup flour, 1 small onion, minced, 4 tablespoons fortified margarine or other table fat. Do not pare, simply cut into inch-thick slices. Sprinkle generously gen-erously with salt and let stand half an hour. Rinse and drain. Mix flour and onion. Dip slices in this seasoned flour. Arrange in broad shallow casserole with edges of slices overlapping. Dot tops generously with fat. Add milk. Bake 4 hour In moderate oven (350 degrees F.) until milk is absorbed and eggplant cooked through. This is a delicate bland dish and truly delicious. Eggplant Italians - One large or 2 small eggplants, salt and pepper, cup flour. teaspoon allspice, 4 tablespoons lard or fortified margarine, 2 cups tomatoes, bay leaf, 4 teaspoon basil, salt and pepper, grated cheese. Slice the eggplant .quite thick. Salt and pepper and roll in the flour mixed with allspice. Saute lightly In the fat Stew together tomatoes, bay leaf, basil, salt and pepper, for five minutes. Next arrange the slices of sauted egg plant in stacks of 3 or 4 in a shal low baKing aisn. As slices are stacked, spread with prepared tomato to-mato sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese. Place in hot oven 15 or 20 minutes, long enough to melt the cheese. Vineyard Plans were completed at a meeting held Saturday night at the home of C. M. Stone chairman of the days activities, for the Ward outing to be held Thursday at Canyon Glen. Entertainment will be furnished for old and young and all former residents are asked to attend and join in the days activities. Miss Barbara Anderson has re turned home having spent the summer in Idaho Falls with her sister, Mrs. Norma Lewis. She accompanied ac-companied her mother, Mrs. Vic tor Anderson and her aunt, Mrs. Olena Gammon who were visiting in Idaho Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clegg and children of Heber City visited rel atives here Sunday. , Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Schroader has arrived from Camp Roberts, Calif. Mr. Schroder was given a medical discharge for the army July 27. He was inducted March 15. They will make their nome here. Mrs. Schroder has been in California during her husbands stay there. , Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Blake have been vacationing at Fish Lake the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Clement Dalley have purchased a modern house and are moving it on their lot near the Joseph H. Clegg home. Toachors Invited To MIA Convention The Utah stake M. I.
