Irwin gave a splendid paoer on "India," at the meeting of the Women's Council home arts section, held Monday afternoon at the Women's clubhouse. Mrs. Frank Rooney, chairman, presided. Two solos were sung by Miss Joan Heindselman, ac-comoanied ac-comoanied by Miss Fawn Powell. Mrs. Ray Hoover was in charge of the Red Cross sewing distributed dis-tributed for the women to take home. Bonneville Women Begin Collection Of Fats, Fabrics In compliance with a request from the government, the work directors of the Bonneville ward Relief Society are starting a drive for the collection of fats, and fabrics, announces Mrs. Harold Gardner, who is in charge of this work. Women of the Bonneville ward are requested to gather up their materials in readiness for collection. collec-tion. They are asked to render and strain the grease and store it in pound cans in a cool place. Also, they are requested to look up any or all of the following items: Sacks, cotton or wool underwear, old towels, bedspreads, wash cloths, cotton dresses, shirts, curtains cur-tains and draperies, dust cloths, rope, burlap bags and seat covers. Provo high school students will assist with the collection, it is announced. Camp, No. 2 Names Hostesses Camp No. 2, Daughters of Utah Pioneers announces the hostesses for the ensuing year. MUTUAL ESSAGES Evening of Bridge Enjoyed An enjoyable time was spent at the Monday Night bridge club affair given by Mrs. J. J. Nusink at her home Monday. Luncheon followed the card game. Farewell For Service Men A farewell party for Artimus Holman and Weslie Fillerup, who are leaving for the service, Saturday, Sat-urday, will be held by the Vineyard Vine-yard ward patriotic committee Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of the chairman, Joy O. Clegg. All relatives and friends of the young1 men are extended a special spec-ial invitation. A patriotic program will be furnished and a pot-luck Junch served. Wl u if v Navy Boy Gives Talk An interesting talk was given by Rex Leffler of Provo, who is home -on furlough from the navy, at the monthly session of Pxovo's own 145th F. A. auxiliary, auxili-ary, held at the B. Y. high auditorium audi-torium Monday evening. The president, Mrs. G. L. Woolf, presided, a flag ceremony was conducted by Mrs. Joel Brown, and three songs were furnished by Kay Bandley, who accompan: ied himself on the guitar. Young Leffler had many interesting inter-esting experiences to relate, in connection with the sinking of the airplane carrier, Yorktown, on which he was stationed and which he was forced to abandon when ; it was struck by an enemy en-emy torpedo. He swam around for three or four hours in the oil-covered oil-covered water before being picked pick-ed up by a U. S. destroyer, and was wounded slightly. He enlisted in the spring of '41, and this is his first trip home. He is to report back for duty Saturday, and will be assigned to a new ship. Refreshments were served to 30 members and husbands.
