Will Knight, Saturday evening eve-ning at Riverside cafe. The affair also honored Richard Rich-ard Knight on the occasion of his birthday anniversary. Guests included, in addition to the bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Holbrook, parents of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Wells L. Brim-hall, Brim-hall, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mangum, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Knight, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Knight, Miss Helen Holbrook and Carlyle Dahl-quist Dahl-quist of Provo, Mx. and Mrs. Raymond Ray-mond R. Holbrook ot Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Anderson of Manti, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Groberg of Idaho Falls, Ida., Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brown of Holbrook, Ariz., Mrs. Elizabeth Berry of Los Angeles, and Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam J. Snow, Jr., of Washington, D. C. White and pink roses and peonies peo-nies graced the dining table, and after dinner, each family related Interesting incidents in the lives of the children. Raymond B. Bride-Elect Given Dinner Miss Ila Brockbank, Whose marriage mar-riage is to take place this week, was the motif for a delightful informal dinner given by Miss Eliza Nelson at the Nelson summer sum-mer home in Vivian park, Sunday Sun-day afternoon. Roses and peonies were used in decorating, and after dinner, games were played. The affair was enjoyed by Mrs. Boyd Pulley of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Quayle Cannon Jr., and Mrs. Joseph C. Nelson of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Clifford Pierpont, Mrs. George Rea, Mrs. J. W. Dangerfield, Mrs. Joseph Nelson, Miss Fern Smoot and Miss Elsie Adams of Provo. At Dinner In Salt Lake Mr. and Mrs. McKay Christen-sen Christen-sen of Payson, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred C. Johnson of Provo, motored mo-tored to Salt Lake City, Sunday, where they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. Frank Barnes, at their home. The affair honored their son, Richard Barnes, who is being graduated from the University of Utah, this week. His wife is the former Afton Johnson, well known here. Sunday evening, the family attended at-tended the baccalaureate services at Kingsbury hall. Club Calendai TRIPLE FOUR . The Triple Four Bridge club will meet Wednesday at 1:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. John Ellison. , De NOVO Members of the De Novo club will meet at the home of Mrs. Harvey Higgins Tuesday at 1:30 o'clock. O E S. Valley Chapter No. 3, O.E.S., will meet at the Masonic temple Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock. Past Matrons of the order will entertain the chapter. All members mem-bers and visiting members are invited. Refreshments will be served. PEACE OFFICERS' HIVES The Utah County Peace Officers' Offi-cers' auxiliiary will meet Wednesday Wednes-day at the Haase cafe, dinner to be served promptly at 2 o'clock. Cards will follow. A lawn party was held at the home of the bride Tuesday night in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Max Johnson. Many useful and beautiful beau-tiful gilts were received. They left to make their home in D'elta. Mrs. Theodore Martineau and Mrs. Lynn Mecham entertained friends Friday evenig at the Martineau Mar-tineau home, honoring Violet Rowley, Row-ley, whose birthday anniversary occurred on that day. Strate. Mr. Strate, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Strate of Provo, is stationed sta-tioned with the 145th Field Artillery Artil-lery at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif. The nuptials took place at the lovely Samerkand hotel, the name of which means "heart's desire," in Persian. The ceremony was performed in the Persian gardens, at 5:30 o'clock, by Chaplain C. Clarence Neslen of the 145th Field Artillery, former mayor of Salt Lake City. After the wedding members of the two immediate families, and a party of friends, were guests at a dinner in the private dining room of the hotel. The bride was gowned In a model of white marquisette, trimmed trim-med with French lace. She wore a white wide-brimmed garden hat and carried a bride's bouquet of white camellias. The Couple slipped away for a honeymoon trip along the coast. For traveling, the bride was costumed cos-tumed in an Alice blue silk gabardine gabar-dine suit with white accessories. Relief Society Programs FIRST WARD A Relief society teachers' report re-port meeting will be held Tuesday Tues-day at 2:30 o'clock in the ward chapel, and a full attendance is urged since special business is to be discussed. SECOND WARD The Relief society social planned plan-ned for Tuesday in Pioneer park, has been postponed. FOURTH WARD ' The work and business committee commit-tee will have charge of the Relief society meeting Tuesday, at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Emma Nelson will preside. Miss Irma Acord will read and the Mothers' Glee will sing. (They will meet for a spe cial practice at 2 o'clock.) The women are to take handwork, and the visiting teachers are to make their reports. Mr. and Mrs. George H. Nelson of Provo, announce the marriage of their daughter, Virginia, to William M. Jacobson, son of Mrs. Rilla Jacobson of this city. The ceremony was performed in Evanston, Wyoming, Mrch 29! and the young "couple will make their home here. Browning Society Members Invited To Salt Lake Members of the Utah County Browning society are invited to be guests of the Salt Lake Brown ing society at its annual, spring program Saturday at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Earl J. Glade, 2610 Hignland drive, in Salt Lake City. . Those who plan to attend the affair, also, those desiring transportation, trans-portation, are asked- to notify Mrs. J. J. On Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock, all children of the ward of Primary age are invited to the summer recreation class, which will be held weekly under the direction of the Primary officers of-ficers and teachers. They will meet at the church and all types of games, dancing and other forms of entertainment will be taught. All members of the ward are invited to a social honoring the retiring bishopric at 8 o'clock Friday evening. The Sunday officers will be in cnarge of the program, the M. I. A. officers the games, and the Relief Society the refreshments for the evening. eve-ning. Seagull Leader Olive Gillespie presented the girls to President Delia Baum, and she in turn presented them to President Mana Cqnder, Who wol corned them into the Mutual organization. Guide Class Leader Lucile Coleman presented the boys to Bishop Stubbs, who welcomed wel-comed them into the priesthood work. President Olive Burningham and Stake Guide Leader Mary Williams of the Sharon stake board, were present and spoke. Stake missionaries McKell and Rowley were present and spoke briefly. They are the new missionaries mis-sionaries for Edgemont ward. Mrs. Vaun C. Lott and son, Charles L. of Duchesne, are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Sharp Gillespie and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Pulsipher and family left this morning for their home in Los Angeles, after spending the past two weeks here and in Salt Lake with relatives rela-tives and attending conference sessions. Mr. and Mrs. Sharp Gillespie, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Pinegar and Miss Mary Gillespie attended the rose show at the Hotel NeWhouse on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs, Ray Hawkins and family spent Sunday afternoon after-noon at Benjamin, where the Hawkins family met at the family fami-ly home, honoring the birthday anniversary of their mother. M. C.
