Lady Lions At Canyon Dinner The attractive summer home of Mrs. Victor J. Bird, in Wildwood, Provo canyon, was the scene of a delightful party held by the Lion's Ladies Tuesday. Mrs. Ralph Hayward was chairman chair-man on arrangements, assisted by Mrs. Bird, Mrs. Grant Ekins and Mrs. DaCosta Clark. . Dinner was served at small tables, arranged with p retty flowers. Mrs. Aura Hatch gave details de-tails of the district convention held in Pocatello, Ida., and after dinner, Mrs. Hayward showed motion pictures taken on her trip to the Hawaiian islands. Miss Geneal Hayward entertained with Hawaiian dances. , . Thirty-three members and five guests were in attendance. ' Honored On Birthday Mrs. Stella Mooney "was entertained enter-tained at her home Tuesday evening, eve-ning, in celebration of her birthday birth-day anniversary. .4 Twenty guests made up .' the party and a delightful time was spent with games and music. The affair, attended by many Provoans, was held Monday evening eve-ning at the home of the bride's father, Alonzo Francis in Morgan, Utah, Mr. Phillips is a son of Mrs. Elizabeth A. and the late Ilarry T. Phillips of Provo. Only close family members were present as the bride came down the winding white staircase on the arm of her father, to be met by the groom In front of the marble fireplace in the living room. A candlelight ceremony was performed perform-ed at 7 o'clock. Huge baskets of lUies, climbing roses, baby breath and daisies, all in white, banked the fireplace, and tall stands held lighted tapers in candelabra. Palms were also cm-ployed. cm-ployed. Appropriate music was piayed before the ceremony. The bride, who was preceded by two tiny tots in long white frocks, wore a beautiful white silk net gown, over satin. Her fingertip veil was caught with white flowers, flow-ers, and she carried lilies and bride's roses. Mrs. Carma K. Ncwbold, her sister, attended as matron of honor. A reception followed at 8 o'clock, 300 guests attending. The dining room was also striking strik-ing in white, a massive tiered wedding wed-ding cake and candles gracing the table. Matching candles stood on the buffet. Mrs. R. A. Bullock and Miss Joy Phillips of Provo, sisters of the groom, and Miss Meade Crouch were in the gift room. The newlyweds left immediately for Yellowstone park and the Te-tons. Te-tons. They will make their home in Morgan, where Mr. Phillips is enpaged In the sheep business. He Is a graduate of the Irovo high school, and attended the li. Y. trior tr-ior three years. His bride Is a graduate of the U. S. A .C. Logan, and has taught school in Morgan for several years.
