Show A FIE cl A house FITTINGLY DEDICATED apostle r M lyman offers the dedicatory prayer remarks of speakers A liappa concourse of people met in the elegant new first ward meeting house last wednesday evening for the purpose of dedi catine the game all were highly pleased with the beautiful appearance it presented entering th vestibule by a double door in the west wo find a small hallway neatly carpeted with a doordon the right and the left leading into the main assembly assem ply room this was brilliantly lighted twelve incandescent electric elac lights on two lovely chandeliers suspended from the ceiling two long aisles leading to the pulpit were neatly carpeted going down the same one notices a bench and a row of chairs alternately this arrangement is for the convie of clashes in sunday school the chairs being handy to reverse the pulpit is truely beautiful and finely in proportion with the main room which ig feet thirteen large and even small wi 0 dows light the whole building thoroughly in fact the moat pleasing feature of the whole structure anro its beautiful windows in the east end the relief society and young ladies association have eacle a room richly furnished upstairs is designed lor prayer circle at the audience was called to order by bishop J P II 11 johnson on the stand were apostola francis M lyman presidents Smoot Cluff and John President of juab stake several members of the high council and the authorities of the first ward after the opening exercises the treasurers treasur ers report waa read by elder jolin C graham as follows REPORT of cost of building ila 61 apostle F M lyman then offered the dedicatory prayer he thanked god our heavenly F ather for the beautiful house and acknowledged the band of the lord in the erection of the same we dedicate it unto thee father and mk thee to the plot of ground upon which it stands that it may never bo defiled bless the stone the manor and afao brick that compose the walls bless the timbers used and may they be durable bless tha doors and the door frames the windows and tha material of the same may they let in he pure light of heaven by day and keep out the cold by winter bless the ceiling the plastering the roof shingles foists joists and ail composing the same bless the yes tery the prayer room alie stand the peats and chairs bless the whole building and accept of it aa an offering may it never be defiled for unholy purposes or destroyed by earthquake apostle lyman also prayed for the rich blesing of heaven to rest on all who had helped erect the beautiful structure and the priesthood prist hood of the the ward at the close of the dedicatory prayer all responded with a hearty amen PRESIDENT SMOOT arose and said I 1 congratulate the people of this ward ou having such a beautiful house of worship and I 1 am pleased that the house is fully paid for I 1 have not been in the building before but my interest has been with the same I 1 am gratified at the manner in which the people ibave contributed and I 1 feel that no one is aay worse off for having giyen of his means for such a purpose on building temples and other houses of worship we all feel better when we have assister ass istel in building the same this is true of all public works I 1 hooe eliat we shall appreciate preci ate the labors eliat have been performed on this house and that our ren will meet here in the future and feel that they have some claim boon house as a place of worship I 1 join with brotherly man in saying God bless the people of thia ward amny he prosper you as he has in the past 1 hope it all in any way there should bo no dancing in auch a place As I 1 understand i the house haa been dedicated exclusively for worship and in all blut we dothene do there should be nothing impure or unholy connected with this building I 1 think god is w pleased as we are with gitany gathering in thia should be such as would not defile a temple our children should be taught to be orderly in coming in and giang out of houses 0 worship there should be no necessity for any bishop to have to ill an an to order II 11 11 if sair igual chance of fie people fil all ba a breit as the build
