Show A Thought From Piof. D. H. Christenson. (Taken from a lecture delivered by him before the Wyoming Wy-oming Reclamation Convention ) In a democracy we are all members of a great social group. Our interests may vary but our obligations are mutual. Solicitude for our welfare finds expression through our divinely inspired government. T ie wisdom of our government is the sumation of the wisdom of those men and women who function in the various departments of government. This wisdom and solicitude find expression in various government policies that safeguard the mental physical and moral well-being of our citizens. Outstanding Outstand-ing examples of this may be found in various departments that deal with the welfare of the people. For example the Reclamation Department. Few of us can realize, much less a ppreciate the wonderful contiib-ution contiib-ution the Reclamation Department has made to the well beingand happiness of thousands. In the main these people, -the beneficiaries, are a part of our best cilizenship and our government has been most generous in making their-home life a place of joy and contentment. He who owns a parcel of land from which he can derive a decent livelihood cosistenlly feelsthat heis a stockholder in the goveinmnrt itself. He is a eond citizen |
