LUND O Believe It Or Not Destiny is doing it.s work carrying out its program There has been formed the ground work and some of , the super structure of a new Laegue of Nations to be called The United States of the World. Twenty-six nations have sigDed up. Washington will be the capital of the world under un-der this arrangement. Verily the world does move. m ... , True Philosophy of Life "It is a sad mistake to believe that injustice and wrong can injure only the poor and the weak Every mean word and narrow thought and selfish act degrades the agres.sor, leaves its mark tuon his sou! and its penalty in his life, so too, no good effort is really lost, however it may seem to be. The kind word may be spoken to the deaf, the right-- right-- eouseffort be wrongly directed, the alms unworthily bestowed be-stowed but the heart that feels and the soul that tries has grown greater by the act, A3 the shadows lengthen and the daylight wanes as the hair whitens and the passions cool, more and more do we learn that love is the true philosophy of life; more and more do we see that pity should take the place of blame.forgiveness of punishment, charity,of justice, and hatred be replaced by love. Every deed of mercy and every act of charity, and every thought of pity is like balm of gilead to our sol:1s. We may none of us be wise or great, fortune may elude us and fame never come: but however poor or weak or humble, we yet may inscribe our names in Uip fairest brig '.test hoo ihe book of lo e, and transmit our names on its sacred pages " Will It Ever Learn? "Will the world ever learn what true religion is? Will it ever learn that love and pity and charity are more in the sight of the Infinite than many of the creeds and dogmas of the earth? Will it ever learn to believe th'a beautiful verse of Robert Burns: But deep this truth impressed my mind, Through all his works abroad; The heart benevolent and kind, The most resembles God " What I See. I see the millions that lie dead Of wounds and cold on battle iields. I see the'r vanished dreams Of home and love and goodly life. But over all these martyred dead ' I see a vision of a nobler day, A finer justice, a more equal social life. I see above their youthful forms The coming of the dawn, The democracy of brotherhood; A time when men shall not make war; A time when millions shall not toil And spin and wear away their lives That a few may live in luxury and ease; When the fondest wish of each Shall be thegood of all, And life shall richer grow With liberty and love. " C. N. LUND. Destiny Points To New Order. 1 Even th ugh 1 are at war with an enemy that must be vanquished at any cost, and the souls of most of us are throbbing with patriotic fervor, we must not be afraid , to deal with biblical truth as it relates to the present crisis. In the 17th and I8th chapters of the Book of Rev-e'ations Rev-e'ations so much is aid about Babylon and the fall of Babylon, by which is very clearly and definitely meant v the political, economical and religious misrule. Babylon is the system which is diametrically opposed to the adoption adop-tion and adm'nistration of the Creator's plans for His people. Babylon the Great is used as a symbol to desiccate desic-cate the old firancicl and economic activities of the world., the war of busires, the mad fever of commercialism, commercial-ism, the lust to possess wealth, power and authority, the desire to ride rough shod over all the rights of the people-and people-and to exploit them to the limit. Under the Babylonic system 'h'Te nnver can be any 'rue justice, nny equality, or any lasting peace. As long as the wpak are ground down by the stroncc, and the temin'g mil- lions forced to live in constant fnar of want'and destitution conditions can never be righ' . This old and dying system is the main cause if war and strife and oppressions.' "Its sins have reached unto hpaven." While the Allies are and will fight desperately to save it they will find out in time that ,they are not fightin so much, for it as they are fighting to bring in a New Qrder. That's the handwriting hand-writing on the wall of the world's destiny. It is not the mission of the Axis to set up the New Order; their mission is to wreck; they are the wreckers of the old and out-moded. mm Iron Clad Facts Beware of the papers whose writers make such vicious attack on labor. Asa general rule they are subsidized by FaJcist men or groups. Some of the anti-labor columnists get an extra $1000 a month from Fascist organizations. Fascism in this country is spending vast sums of money, that had better go to defense, to influence public opinion, to buy professors', public officials and newspapers. Some of them are out for appeasing Japan. They are smearing labor and calling all plans for the public good red, radical and unsoud. The National Electric Light Association instead of reducing rates to their patrons, is spending $25 000,000 a year to turn public opinion against municipal munici-pal ownership. Fascism is the immediate danger in this country, and it, more than labor, will soon wreck things. |
