EIHTOKIAUST Interest-Bearin- g, Debt System and Private . Banking Musi Go. h- (Contributed) j; ' The present mountain high interest bearing debts, owned and created by the private bankers, injures humanity and vexes God, and it is His putpose to destroy them that man may live more abundantly. It seems that it, has been neces- - sary to continue this private banking system until all its ini quity, stupidity and insanity could engulf the world in death and destruction revealing to all mankind that justice, decency, and kindness are the only workable ways. Before any more human progress can be made man must have an honest money system " He Has Had His Day And What a Day HITLER'S MISSION ABOUT ENDED We believe that Hitler's mission is about ended. The star of his destiny 5 f about to set. His mission has been that of a destroyer, one foreseen over two thousand years ago, raised up to overthrow and change the politics, economics, governments and religions of the world. Before the after- -' math of his work is over he will have practically destroyed the present system, by the scriptures called Babylon. He has been guided by a voice that he alone could hear. This voice has saved his life several times and has given him the kind of inspiration he hafi had. In his progress he has brought upon the Jews the fate they called down upon themselves when they said: "His blood be upon us and our children." He has turned against the God of his fathers, substituting force. He has set aside the Ten Commandments and the bible. He is overturning Cath-olicism, even Protestantism as well. He is an appointed destroyer. He has seen to it in his own way that, the ground is being cleared for the builders of the New Earth. And how could they build unless complete wreckage made things ready for them. He is the most absolute monarch of all time. Fu-ture history cannot describe him better than does the eleventh chapter of the book of Daniel. PERSONAL Be thankful and give thanks for your blessings. You are living in a seventh heaveD com-pared with the conditions that prevail in many countries. The Deseret News may con tinue to call the government rebel and alien and the admin istrators alien tyrants and the official government a reign of terror.but it is doing very much harm to its people and to the state. Some of us thousands of us cannot stand it and ac-tually weep over it. St. Paul would forswear so little as eating mett if it gave offense, but this paper, the more it offends and insults and divides the people, the more severely it lays it on. It is wrong! "With none is the Lord more displeased and offen-ded than with those who refuse to acknowledge His hand in all things." If that editor knew even the abc about the mission of Mormonism he would know that all that is going on, even to the complete des ruction of all the false set up of Mammon, can only.and necessarily will re-dound to the glory of theKing-do-b, ed write differently. Thi is as true as anything can be. We went to the Sagebrush Democrats' meeting Monday night and found the Democrats very much alive, numerous and active as a swarm of bees. A speaker boasted a party voting record of 64 years and would like that many more The big audience applauded plenty when he said he was for Roose-velt for a fourth term. The G.O.P. elephant would have li ft that meeting hungry and tearful and ready to wire home to Wall street for money to travel on. Neighbor Samuel Eastman was in and bore a strong testi-mony. At the age of 83 he be-lieves that he is yet to perform st great work and only awaits the opportune tiui ,. He has a son in the serviee who is a Com mando and in a hi.h popitirn. He says that life is good lo h'm in his old age and that the Lord has not forgotten him. Kodak Repairing Over 40 Years In SALT LAKjfi CITY, More About the Forums C. V. Hansen The writer like the editor of the Progressive Opinion has for a number of years past con ributed to the open Forum in the News and Tribune. We were rather disappointed when the News discontinued the ''What Readers Think" column. He called on the Manager and asked why it was done. The reply was, "We have not room for it." We then said, "It is too bad as the common man likes to learn what the common men think." Wp had been a subscriber to the News for a number of years, but stopped it, and sub-criee- d for the Tribune, as it still had the Forum. But alas, it too have seen fit to deprive the com- - mon an from expressing himself. In our opinion, there is a lot of stuff hat is printed, that occupying space, that is'nt worth the ink it takes to print. So if the excuse is, that it is becauFe of space that it'is done, it appears a very flimsy aliby. Therefore, we are pleased to know that the Progressive Opin-ion shows it's liberality and is broad minded enough to invite contributions by the common man. Support the Progressive Opinion. C. V Hansen Let's Turn From Worship of Moloch To Worship of Man FOR COOPERATIVE OR COLLECTIVE INSURANCE We are decidedly for cooperative or collective life insur-ance, a system under which ALL the people share in the bene-fits and the profits. Today, as always, life insurance is all too high for the common people and therefore too few of them receive worth while benefits. The rates could and should be reduced to half of what they are. It is said on authority that the big monopolistic companies collect more than $2.00 for every $1.00 paid out to policy holders. They collect $93,000,-000,00- 0 while all their items of payments to policy holders amount to but $45,000,000,000, which gives them $48,000,-000,00- 0 as profit with which to pay salaries up to $100,000 a year for some of their magnates, and engage speakers who set forth their business as about equal to the gospel of the Nazarene. They literally revel in wealth and go to the very limit of excess profit taking. ' Fire insurance companies charge their patrons one billion dollars to cover losses of only $400,000,000. They are now charged with violation of the anti-tru- st laws and they are answering with one of the most powerful lobbies ever assem-bled in Washington, to influence congress. In this field also the rates should be cut to half of what they are at present. a.,..- - "We may find ourselves saying: There goes another American. He is rich or poor, white or black, but that is unimportant. He must not be pushed around. He is one of us. He may need help. He must not go hungry. He mustn't be dispossessed. His spirit must not be broken. You cannot do that to an American. We need him. If he is strong, we are strong; if he is weak, we are weak. We cannot go running over the hills now each in a separate direction, looking for things to make us rich. -- We must- - - - stand here together, each in his place, and look to our arms, our skills, our strength of common purpose. . . . Money is not our object any longer. . . . What are property titles in the face of' pollution, dirt, slums and decay?" PERSONAL AND OTHER ITEMS We take pleasure in announ- - ing that our daughter, Christie Lund Coles was awarded first v prize in the Annual Poetry Con test of the Relief Sociaty Mag-azine, and second prize in its story contest. Her three poems and her story will appear in an early'issue. It was good to see Friend Artemus Lamb come in aftr a long absence in Denver where he had a splendid position. He comes with the same smile and the same optimistic outlook and will likely remain here for some time. Neighbor C. B. Linschoten of 922 Elm Ave., was in to do the right thing and to again express his faith in the Golden Rule, which is his religion. He says if people live that they will not have need of any of the com-mandments. His belief keeps him happy and satisfied with his lot in life. Neighbor Mrs. Daniel Black was in and brought the where- - withal. She is an officer and earnest worker in the Town-sen- d movemement and urges good people to become identi-fied with it. If people but kn w what this zoot suitor business is the fore-runner of they would tremble. We have received a fine re-mittance and a good letter from Friend Norman Larsen of Og-de- n Thanks. We knew him and his folks when he was a boy in Sanpete and we have al-ways appreciated them as good people He says: "My ideas are like yours. I am praying for a change when men and people will be one and share alike in all things. We are all born equal )jut some swine come in and put a hedge around all the natural resourees and take the things that belong to all the people." i Enlertaining visitors during the week were Joshua Raldton of Preston; H. P. Hansen of Smithfield; J. F. Thomstorff of Los Angeles. Mrs. L. E. Elggren has pas sed out of this life and gone to her reward. We deeply sym-pathize with the husband and tons and daughters. She was a beautiful soui, gentle and kind always. And she went about doing good. For her the gates will be widely ajar to the best of the many maneionsover there Friend J. H. Lund had a pleasant visit from both their s ms Howard from a camp in Colorddo, and Kenneth from a center in Florida. They felt and looked well. They leftTues. Friend Donna Campbell is joining the Wacs and will le part for Des Moines on the 25. BELIEVE IT OR NOT The Prophetic word in Revelation 17 foretells the fate 6f the great Papacy in Rome. It is destined to pass away. The dictators "shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire." Increased suffering is ahead for her. She is to be made desolate and will be consumed by tribulation. Organized Protestantism is also in for its share of tribulation. Why has the prophet foretold this? Because they have come to a time when they do not have sufficient spiritual power to save themselves. m m They Think Home Folks Worth Dying For HOW ABOUT THE SOLDIERS ON THE HOME FRONT? We have been in our life time acquainted with at least one man who as a boy saw the finish of the Civil war and who, to the day of his death at an advanced age, had no other name for Abraham Lincoln than rebel and traitor. All his life he nurtured a hatred for that great man which marred his own life and always caused him mental misery. This man went to forgotten dust, unwept, unhonored and unsung. It appears to us that there are "soldiers" on the home front who will go through life and out of it in much the same way. How is it people are behaving on the home front while the boys are writing a record abroad that will shine glorious throughout all time? Many drag themselves about doing noth-ing but helping Hitler to divide the allies, repeating infamous rumors, arguing against their country, maligning their gov-ernment. Many refuse to work at the most necessary jobs, a stoppage of which would make sure that their sons could not get back from abroad and would be left helpless there before the enemy. They little know how and for what they would work if Hitler and Tojo won the war. What kind of a story will some of the home front "soldiers" have to tell their children and their children's children? Had Stephen A. Douglas gone on hating Lincoln and speaking evil of him after the war started as he did before it started, he would have gone down in ignominy and, shame. But he shook off his hatred and acted nobly in coming and offering himself to the president, saying something like this: "When my country's flag is fired upon I am no longer a par-tisan. I am for the Union and there are now but patriots and traitors." THE COUNTRY'S SPIRITUALITY AT LOW EBB Certain ravings and rantings and howlings over the radio, and songs like Pistol Packin' Mamma and the like prove con-clusively that the spirituality of the country is at a very low ebb. It is the same in England where the most popular song holds to the ideal of a drunken celebration when the war is over. We shall shortly show why these nations cannot save themselves unless they experience a wave of genuine repentance. Humanitarian Work Unnapreciated Attention, Mr. DeWitt. We have been taken to task because we featured a story about, a man in the South, who happened to be a Negro, had made good on an FSA loan. We just happened to select this one story because it was one of lie latest to come out. There are several thousand other ftories similar in nature about the poor white farmers of Dixie. In each case an inspiring story might be told. It is truly wonderful ho-- much good has been clone down there in that way. Our only complaint is that all tenant, fanners did not receive the benelits. We hold that when the government sees a man who is at all worthy but, is down and out that it should immediately take steps to rehab-ilitate him, and in lieu of a better system, give h m all that the government is willing to under present circumstances. And why any one should object to a citizen receiving such benefits is beyond our understanding. For Democracy's ambition Is "Justice for all mankind"! |
