Show The Atlantic Charter Today Friday, August 14, is the anniversary of the Signing Sign-ing of the Atlantic Charter by the two great leaders, Churchill Church-ill and Roosevelt, somewhere or. the high seas. Two of the great powers of Europe have pledged themselves to rebuild their part of the world on the terms of that great Charter. .The charter, signed by Prime Minister Winston Church-iil Church-iil and President Roosevelt "somewhere at sea" Aug 14,1941, contained the following points: No territorial aggrandize-ment;no aggrandize-ment;no territorl changes without the freely expressed wish of the peoples concerned; respect for the choice of allp eoples of their own forms of government with restoration where deprived; depri-ved; equality of access to raw materials and world trade, collaboration col-laboration for improvement of labor, economic,, and social conditions; freedom from fear and want; abandonment of the use of force with disarmament of aggressors pending establish ment of a permanent security system; freedom of the sea. ... afc m . |
