Show County Agent Is Speaker at Manila Farm Bureau Meet Manila Farm Bureau met Monday Mon-day at 2 p.m. in the Manila ward house. Nyal Wudley was in charge and introduced visitors, S. R. Bos-well, Bos-well, and A. J. Madson, secretary of Utah County Farm Bureau. In his talk Mr. Boswell, county agent, told of the Union Pacific Agricultural car which will be in American Fork Tuesday. It will feature home improvement and home beautification. He also explained ex-plained the Feed Dealers School to be held at the Brigham Young University on-Feb. 12. He led in the general discussion on social security as it effects the farmers. The election of officers was conducted con-ducted by Mr. Madson. Wives of Farm Bureau officers, automatically automatic-ally hold the same position in the ladies fann bureau as do their husbands hus-bands in the Farm Bureau. The new officers are presidents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Waraick, vice presidents, Mr. and Mrs. John Swenson, and secretaries, Mr. and Mrs. William Freeman. Directors are Nyal Wadley, Stan Ekins, Eldredge Warnick and their wives. Committee chairmen appointed were: membership, Stanford Ekins; Ek-ins; Daily, K. Adams; Poultry, Stephen Warnick; Livestock,, J. H. Harvey; Crops, William Freeman; Free-man; Fruit, Nyal Wadley; Boys' 4-H, Charles Warnick; Girls 4-H, Mrs. Merrill Wamick; Irrigation, Leo P. Harvey. Roads, Ezra J. Swenson; spring-clean-up, Eldredge Warnick and Mary Warnick; Farm safety, K. Warnick Swenson; Fire prevention, preven-tion, Keith Warnick; pocket gopher goph-er control, Lee Swenson; weed control, Clifton Wadley; legislature, legisla-ture, John Swenson; commercial vegetables, H. V. Swenson and social so-cial security, Effie W. Adams. |
