New officers are: Maxine Smith, president; Jean Killpack, vice president; Rena Friant, treasurer; Rose Hillman, recording secretary; Genevieve Fotheringham, historian; and the education committee are Afton Atkinson, chairman, June Monson and Edna Holdaway. Valley View School elects i FTA officers for coming year : Klivlion of 1TA officers for the 9H,'i H I school year were held at the recent meeting of the Valley View : Sch(xl ITA. ; Pat Fenton was selected as president with Beth Peterson as - first vice president, Shirlee Best as treasurer and Joyce Oscarson as secretary. 1 The new officers will be sworn in by Ijnda Chipman, Pleasant Grove Council president, at the May 12th meeting of the PTA. In addition, the reflection winners performed and the winning art was displayed. All winners received gifts. Certificates were presented to all those who participated in the Reflections Contest. Fifth graders sang the Valley View Song. Dr. Larry Beveridge, who died last month, was honored at the meeting and his picture will be hung in the main hall at the school. A picture oi mm receiving the accreditation for the Valley View School is to be framed and placed in the school trophy case. PTA President, Kathy Harrison, said that a tree, books for the library and an oil painting will be donated to the school in the memory of Dr. Beveridge. Peggy Anderson spoke on the effects of tv viewing on children to conclude the program. Cedar Hills Ward formed in Manila new ward executive secretary will be Gregory Harris and the new clerk is Samuel Ungright. Assistant ward clerks include Allan Baily and Michael Casper. Bishop Flinders remains as Bishop of Manila Third Ward, but it was necessary to sustain Norman McAllister as the ward executive secretary and Gary Murdock as the ward clerk of the Manila Third Ward. On Sunday, March 20, 1983 a special meeting was held at the Manila Third Ward Chapel under the direction of President Grant Fugal. The Manila Third Ward was divided and a new ward on the north was created and named Cedar Hills Ward. Larrie Eldon Gale was sustained as bishop of the Cedar Hills Ward with Eugene Ralph Hadfield as first counselor and Reed Stark Swenson as second counselor. Mrs. Belliston will replace Karla Haynie who has served as president for the past year. Also elected were Vada Winters as first vice president, Velma Gillman as secretary and Shirley Millgate as historian.
