Pace Manager Karl Banlu News Editor UVIDA Elects New Officers, Makes Changes in By-La- ws Wayne Winters of American Fork, B. E. (Bye) Jensen of Provo, and Stanley D. Roberts of American Fork, were elect-ed Tuesday night, Jan. 14, as officers of the Utah Valley In-dustrial Development Associa-tion for 1969. The UVIDA Board of Direc-tors elected Mr. Winters as president and Mr. Jensen as president-elec- t. The latter will automatically become presi-dent in 1970. Mr. Roberts, who is chairman of the Utah Coun-ty Commission, was secretary --treasurer. Mr. Jensen is the first presi-dent elect of the organization, which amended its by-la- Tuesday night before the elec-tion in order to change the of-fice of vice president to the office of president-elec- t. By-laws were also changed to: 1. Increase the board from 23 to 25 members by increas-ing the members-at-larg- e from three to four, and by increas-ing BYU representatives from one to two. 2. Hold election of officers in the January meeting instead of the February meeting. 3. Include the past president eral study committee. A new representative of the County Planning Commission and a second representative of BYU will be named at a later date. Others on the board of direc-tors are Melvin P. An excellent program has been arranged by the officers, according to Joel C. Barlow, USU Extension Agent. The pro-gram will begin with a colored film on insect control at 9 a.m. followed by a discussion on how to grow larger sweet cher-rei-s and a report on the value of sweet cherry promotion, a program which started last year. Other topics of special in-terest to growers will be chem-ical weed control and peach thinning, new burning regula-tions in orchards, study on hu-man toxicity to agricultural chemicals and concentrate spraying to save money.
