Show i I New Utah - Thursday, February 5, 2004 - Page 10 Grove offers 'extreme theater' experience "Friends of The Grove" is theater in a costume of their hosting a benefit performance perform-ance for The Grove Theatre, entitled "Extreme Theatre 24." "Extreme Theatre 24", is five directors, five playwrights, play-wrights, a gang of actors and a few set pieces, come together togeth-er and create live theater productions pro-ductions from beginning to end, and are giving only 24 hours to do it. The group is taking applications appli-cations through 10 p.m. on Feb'. 10 for directors, playwrights play-wrights and actors who would like to help with the project. The take off date for this benefit project, will be March 5 at 7 p.m. and culminate culmi-nate with a performance on March 6 at 7 p.m. The clock starts ticking when the actors come to the choice, with a prop of then-choice, then-choice, pictures will be taken. The playwright will then be given a set of actors and one set piece as inspiration for their play and all must be used in their piece. The playwright play-wright will then write while the director and actors rest. Early in the morning the play will be finished and the director's job begins. The director will come up with a concept how the script is to be presented. The actors will then begin their magic. Together the actors and the directors will create, memorize memo-rize and polish the script that was handed to them not more then 12 hours prior. The final step is when the audience arrives with great cmiHnation and expectation. The plays are presented in rotation form. This unique evening of entertainment is meant to raise money for The Grove Theatre to become a non-profit organization, therefore the admission price is $20 per person. The six-week courses cours-es will be taught in room one of Lehi High School. The intermediate class will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m., c. ass uuui the beginning 5:30 to 7 p.m. and a lab from 7:30 to y p.m.. uunng the lab, individuals may work on their own records using fast DSL lines with individual help. The PAF Insight program pro-gram searches the Internet IGI and adds names, dates, places, sources, etc., into a PAF file.
