Show Funeral Rites Held Monday For R. G. Weeks Impressive funeral rites were conducted Monday at 1 p.m. for Ruben G. Weeks who died Dec. 12 from injuries suffered December 10 in an autombile accident In Orem. The services directed by PI. Grove Fifth Ward Bishop, with Counselor Wayne Haddock conducting, con-ducting, were held in the Olpin-Sundberg Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary . Family prayer prior to the services ser-vices was given by Clarence Weeks, a brother. Invocation was offered by Bishop H. E. Bradley. A ladies trio, Mrs. J. E. Hardman, Mrs. Leslie Rees, and Mrs. Glade Bullock sang 'In The Garden." They were accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Robert James.. Life sketch was read by Leland Weeks, a grandson. Speakers were Burton H. Adams and Earl A. Beck. Both paid tribute to Mr. Weeks for his hard work, thrift and neighbor-liness. neighbor-liness. They were interspersed by a vocal solo "Silver Haired Daddy" by Dexter Walburg, accompanied by Erma Swenson. After closing remarks of appreciation appre-ciation and expressions of faith in the promises of Christ, by Mr. Haddock, the ladies trio sang the closing number "Beyond The Sunset". Sun-set". Benediction was pronounced by Arvil Wadley. Interment was made In the PI. Grove City Cemetery where Reed Peterson offered the dedicatorial prayer. Pallbearers all grandsons were Leland Weeks, Richard Weeks, Delbert, Tom and Lloyd Atkinson. Flowers were cared for and arranged arrang-ed by Pleasant Grove Fifth Ward Relief Society. Mr. Weeks was born in Pleasant Grove, Oct. 23, 1882, the son of Ruben and Mary Hurst Weeks. He married Ida May Walker Sept. 3, 1904, in Provo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They homsteaded in Burley, Ida., and lived there until 1920 when they moved back to Pleasant Grove where he had since made his home except for a short time when he lived in Provo Canyon. He was divorced in 1941 and later married Nellie Warner of Spanish Pork. Mr. Weeks is survived by three children, Mrs. George O. (Norma) Gee, Salt Lake City; Robert L. Weeks, and Mrs. Eugene (Edna) Atkinson, both of Pleasant Grove; nine grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Sophia) Crookston, American Amer-ican Fork; Mrs. Arthur (Emma) Overlade, Pleasant Grove; three brothers, Dr. Frank Weeks, Burley, Idaho; Clarence Weeks, Clearfield; and Jesse Weeks of Oakland, Calif. |
