Show Mary S. Harper obituaries J Amanda Shumway Mary Juliet Salerno Harper, 73, of Pleasant Grove, died Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Sept. 7, 1988 at her home of congestive heart failure. She was born Sept. 22, 1914 in Salida, Colo, to Peter Paul and Frances Carmela Cribari Salerno. She married Charles A. Harper May 17, 19:59 in the Salt Lake LDS TEmple. He died Dec. 21, 1979. She was an active member of the LDS Church, and had served in the Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary. She had been a Relief Society visiting teacher for many years. She had worked at Pleasant Grove Canning Can-ning Co. and the school lunch program, from which she retired. She Mrs. Lynn (Jean) Hansen, Ft. Collins, Colo.; Mrs. Lowell W. (Janice) Callahan, West Jordan; 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Alvin (Clara) Davison, St. Anthony, Idaho; Paul Salerno, Grand Junction, Junc-tion, Colo.; Mrs. Stewart (Frances) Smith and Tony Salerno, both of Pueblo, Colo.; Mrs. Joe (Lucy) DeLuca and Pete Salerno, both of Salida, Colo. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Pleasant Grove 1st Ward. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Our beloved Amanda (Mandy) J. Shumway, 6, of American Ameri-can Fork, died Saturday, Satur-day, Sept. 10, 1988 at her home of Leukemia. She was born May 25, 1982 in American Fork to Ron Jay and Kathy Sibert Shumway. Shu-mway. She attend Greenwood Green-wood Elementary School in American Fork. She is survived by her parents, American Fork; one sister, Tiffine; grandparents, Jay and Donna Shu- mway, Lindon; Alvin E. and Idell Hansen, American Fork; Gerald L. Sibert, Georgia; great-grandparents, Delia Howard and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sibert, all of Salt Lake City; Leora B. Doyle, American Fork. She fought a hard battle with Leukemia for one year. Funeral will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the American Fork 17th Ward Chapel, 240 S. Center, American Fork. Friends may call at the church Wednesday Wednes-day one hour prior to service. Ohran Corey Dane Christensen i A Elayne Adamson Ohran, 64, died Sept. 11, 1988 in American Fork. She was born Sept. 11, 1924 in American Fork, the daughter of Walter T. and Isabel Hutchinson Hut-chinson Adamson. She married Donal L. Ohran May 14, 1943 in Las Vegas, Nev. She worked in retail sales for the Chipman Co. for 19 years. She served as a volunteer Pink Lady at American Fork Hospital for eight years. She was a member of the LDS Church. grandsons and one granddaughter; one sister: Mrs. Ora A. Boren, Pleasant Grove; one brother: Stewart H. Adamson, American Fork. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Graveside services will be Thursday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. in the American Fork City Cemetery. Corey Dane Christensen, 32, died Sept. 6, 1988 at his home in Long Beach, Calif. He was born Feb. 10, 1956 in Lehi, the son of Wane E. and Helen Thompson Christensen. He was a practicing attorney in Long Beach. He was a member of the LDS Church. J I B& a4s8$;v:4H Laurel Anne Fosnot Glazier, 49, of Leland, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 1988 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo following a long illness. She was born March 28, 1939 in Blackfoot, Idaho, a daughter of Drue L. and Vitil Mc-Bride Mc-Bride Mangum. She was later adopted and raised by Mary Elizabeth Kennedy. She married LaDell Glazier June 9, 1957 in Boise, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in' the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was educated in the Boise schools and has lived the past 16 years in Spanish Fork. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Primary for 20 years. She also served as a Relief Society visiting teacher and Primary president. Survivors include her husband of Leland; two sons and six daughters: Mrs. Rex (Lauria) Galloway, Lee Glazier, Lon' Glazier, Larisa I Honorary pallbearers pallbear-ers were Mary Jo's nephews. Mary Jo Story Kirk, 40, of Orem, died Saturday, Satur-day, Sept. 10, 1988 at her home of cancer. She was born July 20, 1948 in Moroni to Keith D. and Joyce Larsen Story. She married mar-ried Kayle V. Kirk, Sept. 23, 1972 in the . Provo LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had served in all the auxiliaries. She attended at-tended schools in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. She attend Southern Utah State College in Cedar City, where she received her teaching certificate. She was continuing her education from Utah State University, working work-ing for a masters degree. de-gree. Shehad taught in the Orem Elementary schools. She was Miss Pleasant Grove in 1964. Rasmussen, age 71 passed away September Septem-ber 10, 1988, following a lingering bout with Alzheimer Disease. Born January 31, 1917 in American Fork, Utah, daughter of John R. and Elizabeth Armstrong Arm-strong Watkins. Married Mar-ried Gilbert "Buck" Rasmussen on July 23, 1938 in Farmington, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Logan Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Served as primary and Sunday school teacher with the youth. Attended At-tended the temple regularly. She was employed by the VA Hospital Canteen, and retired from there after 15 years of cooking. She enjoyed bowling and golfing and being with her family. Survived by her loving lov-ing husband, Salt Lake; two sons and a daughter, Ronald S. and (Bonnie) of Mesa, Arizona; S. John "Shorty" and (Lynn), daughter, Mrs. Joseph H. (Nyla Kay) Lloyd, both of Salt Lake; two brothers, two sisters, Carl A. Watkins of Provo; Wendell A. Watkins, Wat-kins, of Orem; Lucille Huntington, Hatch; Florence Crowell, Lehi; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Ellsworth Hardy, a 70-year-old Eden, Idaho resident, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 4. 1988 at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1918 at Roy, the son of Lewis Myron and Ella Maude Child Hardy. He attended schools in Ogden, graduating from Weber County High School in 1936. He married Barbara Lucille Malan Dec. 5, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had farmed in Weber and American Fork for 15 years, and in Eden for 30 years where he was engaged in dairy farming. He was a member of the LDS Church, where he had served in two 4 bishoprics, was a member of the High Council, was a High Priest group leader, and at the time of death was serving a mission with his wife in the California, San Jose Mission. He is survived by his wife of Eden; three sons; Brent Hardy and Ken Hardy, both of Eden; Dale Hardy of Preston, Idaho; four daughters: Mrs. Bruce (Linda) Landreth, Eden; Mrs. Joe (Kaye) Davidson, Jerome, Idaho; Mrs. Peter (Barbara) Maloff, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Ed (Julia) Wiedenman, Poulsbo, Wash.; a daughter in law, Connie Hardy, Hazleton, |
