Show Myrl Norberg (obituaries) Michael Smith K - Myrl B. Norberg, 85, Lehi, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 1984, al the American Fork Hospital after a short illness. She was born July 28, 1899, in Millcreek, Salt Lake County, to George Smith and Victoria Caroline Price Bailey. She married Lester Marcus Norberg Aug. 17, 1923, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 3, 1965. A member of the LDS Church, she was active in all auxiliaries, including in-cluding stake and ward Primary presidencies, Young Women's program and quilt chairman in Relief Society. She is survived by one son and four daughters: Marcus Lynn Norberg, Riverside, Calif.; Mrs. Dean (Dorothy) Rothe, Providence; Mrs. Mont (Betty) Pulham, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Arland (Carolyn) Pulham, Lehi; and Mrs. Ivern (Janice) Pyne, Fruit Heights; 29 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and two brothers and three sisters: W. Francis Bailey, Salt Lake City; Iris B. Sondrup, Salt Lake City; J. Edgar Bailey, Culver City, Calif.; Beatrice W. Thulin, Sacramento, Calif.; and Mildred B. Hacking, Vernal. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Wing Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in the Lehi City Cemetery. mmv ill L' t . Michael Le Grande Smith, 19, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 1984 in Arizona from injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was born May 10, 1965 in American Fork, the son of Ralph L. and Gladys Hughes Smith. He was a graduate of Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nev. and was attending college in Arizona at the time of his death. Survivors include his parents of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother and two sisters: Allen Lee Smith, Fort Worth, Texas; Jodi Linn Smith and Wendy Jo Smith, both Las Vegas, Nev.; grandparents, Delbert Smith, American Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hughes, Mesquite, Nev. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. in the Las Vegas 16th LDS Ward. Graveside services were held Monday at 11 a.m. in the American Fork Cemetery under the direction of Anderson An-derson & Sons Mortuary. Ruby Dudley Sylvia S. Strong - ft ; Jff Ruby Rose Jensen Dudley, 70, Pleasant Grove, died Friday, Sept. 21, 1984 at her home. She was born Jan. 16, 1914 in Plymouth to N. Parley and Stella May Rose Jensen. She married Warren Rex Dudley in April, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove 11th Ward. She was educated in Abraham, Hinckley and Delta schools. She had worked at the Alpine Valley Care Center in Pleasant Grove, and was a member of the Foster Grandparents Assn. of Utah County. Survivors include a daughter and two sons, Nina Millett, Pleasant Grove; Parley Dudley, American Fork; and Arnold Dudley, Taylorsville; eight grandchildren, 10 great "grandchildren; wand a' brother and four sisters: Hyrum Jensen, Paysony MrsT Thomas" (Allie) Franklin, Vista, Calif. ; Delia Rouse, Canoga park, Calif. ; Delilah Pearson, Ogden; and Ovina Hampton, American Fork. Services were Monday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Bishop Ralph Phillips of the Pleasant Grove Eleventh Ward. Pallbearers were Dean Davis, Joe Davis, Kenneth Anderson, Robert Anderson, John Hilton, and Walter Reimschussel. The family prayer was given by Dean Davis. The prelude and postlude were played by Ellen Monson. The invocation was by Josephine Hilton. The life sketch was by Allie Rose Franklin. Maura Snow sang "That Wonderful Mother of Mine" accompanied by Ellen Monson. The speaker was Don Coleman. Jessie Penrod and Retta Brashear sang 'In the Garden" accompaniedbyllen "Monson. Remarks were given by Bishop Phillips. The benediction was given by Jim Starr. The dedication of the grave was by Owen Anderson. the Jr. Sunday School presidency and at the time of her death was organist for the Sunday School. She was an accomplished organist and pianist. She also enjoyed bowling and bowled with the Wednesday Wed-nesday night mixed bowling team in American Fork. She enjoyed swimming. She had worked for her father as a typesetter at Orem-Geneva Times. She is survived by her husband of Orem, three sons: Clark C. Strong, Richfield; Christopher S. Strong (who just returned home from serving a mission in the Mississippi .Mission); Michael J. Strong, both of Orem; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Sumner; two brothers and one sister: Jack C. Sumner, Brent R. Sumner, both of Orem; and Mrs. Dick (Sandi) Speechly of Ogden. . Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 1984 at 11 a.m. in the Orem 12th LDS Ward Chapel, 1450 S. 800 E., Orem. Friends may call at the chapel from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Sylvia Sumner Strong, 43, 1783 S. 750 East, Orem, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 1984 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center following a long illness. She was born Jan. 3, 1941 in Provo, to Harold B. "Jack" and Dona Clark Sumner. She married Clyde M. Strong in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Feb. 2, 1960. Prior to her death she was a unit secretary at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She attended schools in Orem, graduating from Orem High School in 1959 where she was active in choir. She also attended BYU. She was named Miss Orem for 1959-60. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as secretary of the Relief Society. She served in |
